Curls line - Help me choose products while on sale!
First of all, I received an email with a code for 35% off at the Curls website. The code is celebrate4 and it is good through midnight EST on July 5th. The website is

I have never used this line and thought this would be the perfect time to try it out. I have only been wearing my hair curly for a year. Before last June, I tortured it with a straightening iron every day. The products I have been using so far include:

Kinky Curly Knot Today mixed with Re:coil then Kinky Curly Curling Custard applied on very wet hair. This gives me great curls until it builds up on my hair. I really want to get away from KCCC because of this.

Curl Junkie Coffee-Coco Curl Cream, Curl Junkie Curls in a Bottle, and Curl Junkie Pattern Pusha. My hair starts out good but it doesn't hold up long. It needs more hold.

Donna Marie MiraCurl Curling Gelly over Shea Moisture leave-in conditioner. I just got this in and have used it for 2 days. It is actually doing a decent job in my hair. I like it better than the KCCC so far. With only 2 days experience, I can't say for sure that it is going to work for me long-term though. Afterall, KCCC does great for a couple days and then things go south.

My hair does not do well with gels at all. I have yet to find one that works for my hair. I think it is the fact that they are sticky and thick. It just pulls my curls too much when I am applying and scrunching. I lose all myclumps and get stringy hair instead. Yuck!

I think my hair prefers jellies. I like my curls to clump and the jelly does a good job of holding them together until they dry. I recently cut my hair above my shoulders which was a big mistake. My hair curls much better when it is below my shoulders. Since my ringlets are having a harder time forming with my shorter hair, I really need some good products to help it along.

So, what are your recommendations for me from the Curls line of products? Remember no sticky gels for me. I need something that keeps the clumps together while they dry and has enough hold to last through the day. Thanks everyone.
