Want to color hair, looking for some insight
I wanted to color my hair myself this time, I had always gone to get it professionally done in the past and have only gotton hi-lights not my full head. Anyways, I'm not too sure what hair coloring product I should get. I do want a permanent color and for it to be ammonia free.

I know loreal, revlon, clairol all have no ammonia products but i have no info on how good they work.

I been researching shea moisture hair color system seen a few reviews on it and I may try it BUT i wanted info or ideas about any other product I could check out.

Also has anyone made the their own concoction with the lemon juice (i think that's what is used) to lighten hair color & how did it turn out?

s/n: my hair is dark brown, almost black with the last remains of my hi-lights that were red but now are some brownish color

if your looking for a natural colour i would say try henna. i just henna'd my hair last weekend, and its great! its really improved my hair so much it looks like ive had a new hair make over! haha im naturally a bright red head, so i went a light reddy brown, so now its gone darker and has a brown tone.

Ok, thanks for the tip. I was somewhat worried about doing from watching the youtube videos but I will look more into it.

i was a bit as well, but my mum has been henna'ing her hair since.... for ever, and i felt like doing something new. i am really glad i did it, its such a natural colour, most people dont really notice that i died my hair, but that tells me that its a really natural colour that suits me.
looking into it is a good idea, what colour are you thinking about going?
