I don't think so. I tried it and received wonderful results. The posters on hennaforhair.com think its odd that Rainbow comes in a variety of color, when pure henna is red. This means that there must be additives...but they don't list them. So, this calls into question the 'organic' label on the packaging. I've concluded that it doesn't apply as much to the Rainbow Cassia.
