I was called up to be a hair model next week and I wanted to kno if anyone had experiences they could share wit me so I kno what to expect. Is the ouidad cut typically good for someone wit my curl pattern?

Btw they said they're still looking for more girls if anyone is interested PM me.

I've been to Ouidad in NYC and even met Ouidad herself. It was literally one of, if not the best, hair days I've ever had in life. I wasn't a fan of the cut simply for the fact that I have thin hair but if you have medium to thick hair, I think you'll love it. And don't get me wrong, the cut looked great. It was just unnecessary for my thin hair. Growing out the cut was not fun either. I had a lot of frizz and I've heard that's a common "side effect" if you don't continue getting Ouidad cuts.

I had them style my hair curly, so it was pretty much a fancy wash n go. The stylist (Ana) must have had magic fingers because even though I watched her apply the products I could never replicate the results. After being shampooed and conditioned, she applied a leave in and the climate control gel using the rake and shake method, she clipped the roots and diffused me a bit to ge rid of dippies. Then she put me under a hooded dryer for a while. After I was dry, she applied their gloss pomade and I was done. I hope you enjoy yourself (if your experience was anything like mine, I know you will!).

Blame it on the cell phone...

Shoot, I'd say I want to be a hair model...but Ouidad products do nothing for my hair, sadly. :angry7:

Good luck though! Have fun with it! :occasion9:

Thanks everyone for the kindness. I really hope all goes well. I keep dreading a bad cut.... so much so that I never cut my hair after going natural. Until four or more months ago. Carlos Flores cut it and it looks great, but he didn't really give me the change I wanted... So I guess I'm doing this in hopes that they do something "different" to my hair without butchering it. Lol

How exciting! You have to post your pix from the shoot!

I did that last year. I think Ouidad's method of Carve and Slice works much better on curlier types (I'm wavy). It was a middling haircut and the job they did styling was poor. They should have used harder hold styling products on me.

But all in all, the experience was GREAT. It's a cool salon in a nice area. They gave me a wonderful deep treatment that left my hair very soft. I recommend you do it if you can. Just be aware that they are training stylists on your hair so be specific with what you want.

Thanks for the advice. My biggest concern is simply that they don't hack it all off, and that I can still control my hair afterwards. Lol. I plan to take lots of pictures if I can while there!
