How do I know if the color would look good on me or just cheap ?

LOIS (OS); cottony, TYPE 4 hair, fine/med strands; no cones bcz my hair hates them; last relaxer '98; now low porosity, ignores most natural hair rules; BC #8

faves: suave, v05 shampoo, conditioner (my own), raw shea butter, castor oil, peanut oil, aloe juice
When I dabbled in color I did like mia and went to Sallys. I purchased the bleach and colored my hair myself ... I also did a lot of damage. I think you can get descent results on your own but recommend having a friend help you out, since you'll need to time things appropriately and work the back of your head.

Ive colored mine and had it colored and I think prefer having it colored if your gonna lighten it. When I make it darker I just box color whatever is on sale really. Ive been thinking about highlights after seeing brosia on youtube I love her color. I will say though that after I had my twa I had it colored a bronzey reddish color and its still on my ends, my hair that has had color is completely dif than my hair that hasnt. its sooooo much dryer. even when it was just a little new growth vs the color it was two completely dif types of hair it felt like. product took dif, it felt dif, it reacted dif. so I said i would never get color again seeing that difference but im gettin bored with it now.
