What would you do?

For me, it would depend on the type of relationship the bride and I have. If she was my sister (or close relative) or best friend, I would try to negotiate a hair piece.

If she was just a friend or family friend, I would decline and opt to be a guest. I don't straighten my hair, so I'm not risking heat damage! I'm also a fine haired natural, so heat damage is likely!

It's fine. It's divine. It's all mine

Honestly, it depends on the bride. If my sister or my best friend asked me to straighten my hair for her wedding, I would do it. I wouldn't even fight her about it. Because she's my best friend/sister and has done so much for me without ever asking for a thing in return. The least I can do is straighten my hair for her big day.

If it's someone I'm not so close to asked me to, I'd probably wouldn't do it. Unless they wanted to pay for it and I got to pick the salon.

If it was someone *that* close to me (i.e. my sister) she would know already that I do not straighten my hair. I would politely decline and show up with the most fabulously classy hairstyle I could get.
My hair is in the 4s, low in porosity, high in density and coarse.

Love: QB - all of it, Bobeam - shampoo bars, Darcy's Botanicals - Pumpkin Seed Conditioner, Coconut Cupuacu Pomade, KBN - Shealoe Leave-in, Oyin - Juices & Berries, Kinky Curly - Knot Today, Ayurvedic treatments, my Denman and the cloud of kinky goodness on my head that I get to play with!
I straighten my hair every once in a blue moon, so I would do it for someone's wedding, if asked. Besides, I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've ever been part of a wedding party. My only request is that I straighten it myself...no 500 degree flatirons please. I'd maximize it by rocking the style for at least 1 week and check my ends for any additional trimming.
