February Hits and Misses

Mega hit: Crece Pelo deep conditioner. Oh my word, how awesome is this product?! Not only does it soften and detangle like a dream but it smells incredible. This is going to kick Curl Rehab to the curb. Crece pelo works better, waaaayyy cheaper and I can get in on ground. So happy I found this

My butter mix came out gritty so out of pure laziness I went out and got whipped shea butter. For stretching dry hair and making it feel soft to the touch it is the business. I guess I had to alter how I was using it. (My hair rejects it when it is wet or damp)

So I did not think I would be saying this but Shea butter was a hit.
A semi hit was my return to Shea Moisture restorative conditioner. I missed it. If you use half the bottle (lol) , it has a lot of slip and as a leave in it is not bad. It will be a while before I buy it again because at 12 dollars I shouldn't just be getting three uses out of a bottle.

Other semi hits include:

Taliah Waajid mist bodifier, somewhat slippy, just not quite slippy enough, very softening though.

Paul Mitchell the conditioner: the insane softness it gives to damp hair doesn't seem to carry over into dry hair. I will play with this a bit more before handing in my final verdict. Also not as much slip as you would expect from a silicone (water soluble) conditioner.

Another hit was herbal essences color me happy. I was definitely happy with the level of slip and softness that this conditioner gave me a+++. A close second was the Aussie Moist conditioner, your tangles slide apart like butta with this in your hair. I feel so relieved when I put this in my hair to comb through.

Major miss: Tresemme in general, I am not feeling it. Their conditioners (including the silicone ones) are too thin in consistency and so don't do it for me as anything but a conditioner cleansing agent or a before shampoo treatment. That brings me to my next miss,

Cleansing too often with conditioner. I need shampoo when I wash my hair, the lightest I can go is The Daily Fix by Curl Junkie. There has to be a cleanser that can cut through oil on my scalp in order for it to fee clean (read *not itchy*). Washing my hair with Tresemme and then using a rinse out and then using a deep conditioner resulted in EXTREMELY soft hair but it also led to itchy scalp. Not only that but my hair also ended up over conditioned after a while (it started feeling mushy).

My next miss is getting too excited about protein. My hair was not having it, tangle city.So my protein conditioners are taking a vacation for now. So those are my hits and misses so far.
