Silky 4a twa that won't do anything.

Hello everyone! I just started growing out my hair, and I'm already a little baffled by it. I always thought that since my hair is 3c 4a I would have thick coarse hair, it turns out my hair isn't thick or coarse at all really, it looks thick, but my individual strands are smooth, sleek, shiny, and thin. This coupled with the fact that my hair is only an inch long is literally a disaster, a silky disaster. my hair REFUSES to hold a curl. It simply puffs out for now, maybe it wont be as bad when it gets longer, but for now, its annoying. My hair is weighed down extremely easily, which is also annoying, as I can put a small amount of product in my hair, it will flatten to my head, and hardly curl. When I wake up in the morning, my hair has speratic curls in it, but once I put product in it, it turns lifeless and flat. Why anyone would desire silky hair is beyond me. Can someone please help me? I just end up frustrated and playing in my hair all day to try and get the curls I want, but it never happens. :/
Hair typing has nothing to do with whether your hair is fine, medium, or coarse. I wish people would stop saying that they have coarse hair because it's type 4. My hair is a mixture of silky and cottony.. The silky section is at my nape and can become weighed down. For a long time the only way I could get it to cooperate was to use a mild shampoo bar on that section every day. It actually didn't dry my hair out but my cottony areas didn't like that much shampoo. Then I would use some rinse out conditioner and not completely rinse it out. Add a little bit of oil to that section and no further product. I could then let it air dry or lightly shape the curl with my finger. The rest of my hair won't even hold fingercoils. I have done them on my nieces hair and they work well for her. Over time with length my silky hair tolerates more leave in but I still don't apply as much as my other sections.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it.
