I've noticed some of my curls have locked together into one big clump and it won't come out. I don't know how to get rid of it. I used to use a sponge brush to curl my hair and I think that could be the reason to why it's like this. Should I just cut the clumps out or what? What should I do.

Then, finger detangle (take your time with detangling and be patient). Unfortunately, if this does not help, you may have to cut it. Therefore, I always detangle my hair while it is drenched in water (with a moisturizing conditioner) then shampoo. Afterwards, I do a deep conditioner. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I am sorry this is happening to you. I would try to finger detangle with a mix of condition and oil (EVO). That usually helps me when I have to contend with a knotted mess. I hope this helps.

yep. conditioner mixed with EVOO that sits in your hair for a few hours. Then go in gently with your fingers. My aunt who is relaxed was in the hospital and couldn't lift her arms to do anything to her hair for several months. her new growth matted. This is what I told her to do and it worked.
Forget what hurt you, but never forget what it taught you.
