When did your hair "fall"

Hi Ladies!

I cut my hair back in March. My hair is mostly 4a coils (a bit smaller than the diameter of a pencil). When I cut my hair I had 14 months of natural hair. The coils grew downward. The waves at my crown... ...they went everywhere!

Anyway. I like the shape of my hair. It's about 7-8 inches now. The crown waves stay down with gel/pomade.

My question is how much weight does hair need to "fall"? I would also like my coils to stretch more. Is it likely that the weight of my hair as it grows will stretch out the curl? Or am I destined to rely on heavy gels for this effect?

When did your hair fall?

When did your coils stretch because of weight?
I think as the hair grows, it will be weighed down. I've noticed this as my hair grows. I used to use shea butter to weigh my hair down.
"It moisturizes my situation... preserves my sexy."
Can you explain a little bit what you mean by "fall"? Are we talking about the curls getting looser as the hair grows? If so, my hair may have started that. I was telling AsjaChyld that over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed 3b/3c patches in the back of my head, they weren't there when I bc'd! Is that normal, that further into the natural process that the hair type changes, or more hair types appear? TIA!

My hair is mostly 4a coils (a bit smaller than the diameter of a pencil).

i only have about 3 inches of hair now... but i can tell you that when i was transitioning, the weight of my relaxed hair made my curls look 3cish. and i had about 8 inches of relaxed hair attached to my 1 1/2 inch of curls. HTH
