When I started reading these boards, I spent most of my time reading the hair-type forums, partly to help me figure out which ones were on my head, and then to narrow down the huge number of styling product/technique options. I bought a couple products that other 2B's seemed to like and started from there.
Now I read the general board and the product review board more often, but I still check the 2B and 3A boards.

But also agreed with everyone else about it being more fun/exciting to post on boards with more traffic. In the end, I like having the variety of resources, but do like the quick action of faster moving boards too
