Shameless plug... I do it for my mother's memory as opposed to altruism, she founded the blood bank of alaska. She drilled into me how precious blood is.

We can't give. We lived in Germany for several years and consumed beef products; therefore, we could be harboring mad cow disease. I could never give before because I was too thin and have low blood pressure. Then I gained weight and thought I'd pass, but nope.
