When I saw my dermatologist, he mentioned this effect and switched me over to Azulex prescription. But to be honest I haven't been using it every day.

Everyone is different, but I generally have skin-of-iron and can withstand almost anything, but mandelic made me peel so much I could hardly stand it. It didn't seem to do anything for my hyperpigmentation either. I know some people who love mandelic for both acne and lightening.
