All NEW to This - Help With Routine?

Hi there,

I've had curly hair my whole life, but at 20 years old I'm just starting to embrace it. I got one devacut this past winter, and I'm currently just co-washing and tshirt-drying with the pineapple method. Literally, that's all I do.

BUT, I really want to develop a better routine because my hair is always tangled and unruly and very much in need on attention. Right off the bat, I'm thinking of continuing co-washing with suave naturals coconut conditioner, but adding a rise-out and then using fresh aloe vera gel, deep conditioners once a week, and maybe a leave-in daily. I would like to keep my routine as natural and affordable as possible (I'm a college student and I don't really think I could afford more than $10-15 per month). Does anyone have time to offer suggestions on either products or routine elements? Thank you so much!!

Current situation: chest-length curly hair, damaged from detangling, constantly in knots, overall dry but oily at the scalp.

Goals: detangling (!!!), hair growth, strengthening against breakage, curl enhancement.

Constraints: limited time (30 mins/day) and limited money ($10-15/month) to spend on hair care.

Preferences: products as natural as possible, willing to use homemade products.

It's a great feeling going natural. Although it is very overwhelming starting out. I am 18 months natural and I do this simple routine as well as using a stalking to make a puff for the past 18 months. It went through so much, and It will take some time to find out which products work for your hair!

So it's def. tough when you first develop your wash day routine. I like to use a wide tooth comb but default to finger detangling because it prevents a lot of breakage hence encouraging hair growth! I also Deep Condition every wash day even if its only for 10 minutes some deep conditioners are really penetrating and help when you don't have much time but want to add moisture to your hair. I developed this winter wash day routine that's really helped my wash day go by with a breeze...here's a link here: https://youtu.be/p4d6Bai9Wzg
