Hey there,

I just wanted to introduce myself seeing how I have just started bombarding the threads.

I have been lurking here for a while but didn't realise there was an Aussie section. I found all the product talk in the main boards frustrating so I was stoked when I found this section and decided it was time to join.

I am a 30yr old Mum to two, I have fine and thin frizzy, fluffy hair. I am never happy with it. I hate straightening it cos it's so thin and looks like I have nothing when it's straight and when I leave it wavy it cooks great in some sections but very fluffy/frizzy in others. Since going CG it's behaving much better and I am having less freaky straight sections. I am still having issues with some areas clumping too much while others separate too much and frizz. Oh I have highlighted hair and yes it's the top layers that frizz the most......I know I need to start cutting back on the bleach. My last colouring session I had less blonde foils and on my next one I will have less again, slowely I will phase them out I guess.

I'd say I am a 2a, as I said it's fine and thin, it's past my chin but not quite shoulder length. Still deciding on porosity. I think it's either normal or high. It dries quite quick but I always thought that was cos it's so thin. I seem to be able to handle protein. Hmmmmm, I think that's about all the boring hair details I can muster.

I really look forward to participating in all this hair talk. I am becoming obsessed with the condition of my hair now LOL.
Welcome! I know what you mean about getting obsessed, I never thought about my hair so much until I joined up here
it's fun experimenting, good luck and I hope we can help you

My blog: Can't Stop Thinking About Hair
Welcome. I think we're all a little hair-obsessed on here and I know my obsession knows no bounds!
Have fun experimenting.

I've always been obsessed with trying to control my hair and finding that ultimate product. At least on here I don't sound like a crazy woman!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I really hope I don't turn into a PJ. I actually pride myself on the fact that I have been using the same moisturiser and makeup for years (not the same actualy container, same brand and variety LOL). Untill recently I was just using the Beauty and the Bees Poo bar and nothing else on my hair. I loved the simplicity so I am going to fight the PJism as hard as I can......sadly I think it I will end up losing.

For now I am going to use up all the CG friendly conditioners I have and just use FSG for styling. I have had much more luck with the FSG than anything else.
Oh I took some pics yesterday, so I should have an avatar soon.
I think for me being a poor uni student (ATM - wait till next yr) helps tame my pj monster. though if you look in my bathroom cupboard it tells another story. lol. I'm nearly through all my conditioners though. I vowed while growing out I wouldn't buy anything unless i NEEDED it. slowly getting there.

You can say that again,we need all the help we can get LOL.

We threw our little boy a party on Sunday and I actually had a really good hair day WHOOOOOT! Having success with FSG but this time I put some Garnier Hard hold gel over the top for extra hold.

I wish the FSG wasn't so messy, my first batch was too runny and my second batch is like snot. I ended up freezing the runny batch and used the snot first and it was hard to break up. Just defrosted the runny gear and will try it today. Have also discovered I can't use leave in condish. It just makes my hair too heavy and flat, I'm not complaining, I'm happy to skip a step LOL.

I'm very happy that the FSG can replace the $30 Joico curl definer creme I was using. The rate I was using it I was going to have to buy it monthy.....stuff spending $30 a month on curl creme.
Just testing to see if my sig works........I should be working *tsk tsk*

hi,im new to this site, can anyone recomend a ""curly hairdresser"in adelaide,i have type 3a?? b?? hair i think, its coloured & shoulder length,i know they have specific hairdressers in america for curly hair, where do we go here?? desperate.
Good grief, another Adelaidean, finally!

I go to Coco's in Stirling, wouldn't say they were curly specialists though. A woman I work with always has lovely looking curls so I asked her where she went and started going there too. My hair never seems to look quite as good as hers, unfortunately. Probably just my crappy curls! They do listen to what you say which is always a good thing.

Hi, I'm an Adelaide girl too. 3b. I've tried so many hairdressers and had so many bad cuts!! I'm just about to return to Adelaide after living overseas for a while. Any one found a great stylist?
