How can I get rid of copper tones in my dark brown hair naturally?

Hello
Before i went completely natural with my hair I dyed it ALOT. All dark browns and blacks though, using semi permanent. But one time I messed up and accidentally used permanent hair color and it made my hair lighter with coppery reddish tones that i hate! I LOVE deep rich dark browns and i want so bad to get rid of this coppery stuff! But i tried to cover it with semi permanent again but it just faded after a while and the copper came back. I do not want to permanently dye my hair again with chemicals and i dont want to keep semi perm dying it with chemicals but i do want to get rid of these red tones. Is there any natural non-chemical way to do this? Other than henna please cuz i dont want to ADD more red :/
Thanks!
Short answer? No, not really. Not that I know of, anyways.

Red is one of those colors... it fades, even with permanent box dyes, RIDICULOUSLY fast from its original color, but still manages to hold on top that tiny bit of reddish sheen for forever. So short of stripping your hair (which is going to be infinitely more damaging than another permanent dye), I think you're kind of stuck with it until it grows out.

You could try going a darker permanent dye on top of it... but honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if some of that copper still peaks through. The best and easiest thing you can do, short of drastic measures, would be to let it grow out and chop off the copper colored tresses once it's long enough :/

ok thanks! Its really not that distressing so Ill just let it grow out and keep trimming
I agree with Mimx. Here's an idea that might help a teeny bit - try wearing silver earrings and silver jewelry. I've found that anything gold picks up the copper color while silver tones it down. HTH.

I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....

I don't have advice but I hope you can figure something out that helps! I just wanted to post because I came here expressly to inquire about putting copper highlights into my brown hair. It cracked me up because this of all posts was at the top

sweet i have a ton of silver jewelry! and that is hilarious! well good luck to you! Because once you get them they pretty much NEVER go away! haha
Thanks! I think it's such a pretty effect, but that figures as gold suits me better, so at least we're gravitating to what works!
