Hi everyone. I just did the BC and my hair is really frizzy like a afro, but I would like to have more curl definition. Does anyone have any tips or advice about this? Thanks!

I’ve fallen in love with Curl Junkie Guava & Protein Curl Creme. Hard.

    Great definition, yet supersoft hair!

you can use IC fanstasia gel with sparkalites or aloe vera gel. they give me great definition. also, when doing a shake and go, shaking you head upside down a few times helps.

however, dont get caught up in defining curls, some folks got them and some dont. you have plenty of styling options without them. we’re all nappies anyway. 😀

Ms.g has a point. Is your hair curly/coily when wet? If so, then you can preserve coil definition with product. If it doesn’t, then you can get the same or even better look with a twist or braidout.

Jada so far I think you may be the closest to a hair twin I have. My hair looks like yours when wet. I can’t wait to get your length 😀

If you just did the BC, I think you should be trying to establish some healthy hair first. Just a suggestion. I’d hate for you to have this brand new, fresh head of hair and then destroy it trying to get curl definition.

Try the blue Fantasia gel for color or chemically treated hair for softer hair results.. The clear IC fantasia sometimes leaves hair crunchy…

Don’t worry, it’ll be my length in no time! 😀 The only problem is, that the longer it grows the more it shrinks! 😕 It’s so weird. The only way to get stretchage is thru twist/braidouts. Also, using a blowdryer to “stretch” out sections for a few seconds helps too.

Depending on how my hair looks, I prefer to use it by itself. Sometimes, I’ll use a small amount of [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/DevaCurl-One-Condition-p-55.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=devacurl-devacurl-one-condition]DevaCurl One Condition[/buylink] as a leave-in.

I use it with Curl Junkie Leave In Fine underneath and then apply the Guava & Protein Curl Creme. You don’t need a lot of product and I get a very natural look, no crunch, no wetlook, no stringy curls (I hate stringy curls! LOL)!

If you’d like to know which products will work best for you, send Marsha of Curl Junkie an email, she recommended me this combo and it works so very well they’re my new HG’s.

    HTH!

Well I’m not really focusing on curl definition as much anymore. I was still in shock over my hair and just wanted to do anything, but now I’ve fallen in love! Right now I’m just using Infusium Leave in with CD Healthy Hair Butter and Mimosa Hair Honey every day, along with No-pooing. My curls are showing on their own. My mom was shocked to see the curls in my hair(she thought that only mixed people had curly hair), so I’m just trying to keep it healthy. Thanks everyone for all of your responses. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of questions along the road.

I have found that doing my last rinse in very cold water helps define my curls at least for a lil while. My problem is my hair curls just fine it doenst clump. I can pull a hair from any place on my head dry or wet and it has a definate curl pattern but no clumping so I get this curly fro. Im still trying to experiment to get it to clump. This is the only thing I have thats standing in the way of my loving my hair. I may just have to get used to not having clumps and loving my hair anyway.
