Any 4’s here do the curly girl routine? What is your experience? Disadvantages? Benefits?

I tend to shampoo more in the winter because I wash a bit less (wearing twists, braids, etc.) In any event, I use diluted shampoo (1 part shampoo to 3 parts water). I am using almond castille soap lately, but only once per month. It seems that I waffle between CG and shampooing because of my PJism. I get poo urges. I stay away from sulfates because they are super drying.

I am on the no-poo/no-oil routine and I love it.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me.
I’ve got oily, acne-prone skin and was getting more blemishes. And my hair felt” hard”.

I use Jessicurl’s Hair Cleansing creme. Before that, I just tried to dilute the Elucence shampoo and apply it mainly to the scalp. It really worked for me.

I was completely shampoo free for 8 months or so. I now wash my hair with gentle soap (I prefer the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Oyin-Handmade-Grand-Poo-Bar-p-188.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=oyin-grand-poo-bar-succulent-solid-shampoo]Oyin Grand poo bar[/buylink]) twice a week. I found my fine hair was getting weighed down and less full and fluffy like I like it and the washing helps.

I’m on strict cg, and it’s been fantastic for my hair. I do use oil (coconut hot oil treatments weekly, and shea butter/jojoba as a daily hairdressing). My hair has most definitly never been healthier.

I’m kinda on the CG routine. I do daily CO washes and once I week I shampoo without using harsh sulfates. I strated using shampoo bars and I love them soooooo much!

Same with me. I went CG for a while and it worked….but now that it is summer and I have been doing alot of cornrows, I have been using Giovanni 50/50 shampoo (sulfate free) about twice a month. There is nothing like a fresh clean shampooed scalp in the middle of a Florida summer.

I do a modified CG routine, shampooing 1-2 times a month. I switched my shampoo from CON to Dax Vegetable shampoo and so far my hair seems to like it a lot better. It is softer and detangles easier.
