Any way to simulate what humidity does?

My daughter's hair (she's used to be very curly, but as she's gotten older her hair has become curly at the ends but wavy elsewhere (Boticelli curls I guess). In an attempt to get more curl into it, we got it cut a few months ago and now it's just wavy. When she's outside playing on a humid day, her corkscrew curls come back and I'd love to find a way to make it like that again.

We've switched to DevaCurls Low-Poo and a cone-free conditioner. I sometimes use DevaCurls gel in it, but it doesn't seem to make much difference. I've tried leaving a bit of conditioner in, but that doesn't help either. Is there any realistic way to simulate humidity? I know for most curly people humidity makes their hair frizzy, but it's always tightened and defined my daughter's curls.

Any advice? I miss those curls!
Sometimes curl pattern just changes. Your daughter's hair may have changed to a wave pattern and there may be no way to make it curly. It could also be that her hair needs different products or techniques.
If you use gels with humectants, like glycerin, they help pull water into the hair. This is similar to the effects of humidity.
Also try a more moisturizing rinse out conditioner and/or leave in. You could try a harder hold gel. You could try plopping. Read up on protein and see if this will help your daughter's hair. Protein is great for some hair types, and awful for others.
Good Luck (a blog to help new wavies, go to the how do I get started page)
