Has anyone else had luck going off CG?

I was growing desperate with how flaky my scalp was no matter what I did... so I decided to go off CG (trying doesn't hurt, right?) and see if that remedied my problem.

I used a shampoo with sulfates AND a cone, I used a conditioner full of cones and styling cream with cones as well. However, prouct application I did as with CG.

Well, my hair turned out wonderful. Clumpy, defined and lasted for several days!

I have always done modified CG since I started in Nov. I alternate lowpoos and nopoos. I haven't had an issue with scalp goo and my hair can look good for up to there days. Usually, by third day, I wash anyway to feel cleaner. I get clumps. I like my modified CG. I don't use cones, though lowpooing would remove them anyway.

Cones definitely give hair staying power and fight frizz, so they're popular, sure.

I figure water-soluble is still healthier and cowashing more often is gentler on hair. Can't cowash with cones.
