I've missed all of you.....
Hi everyone,
I've been missing in action for a long time but I sure have missed chatting with you, hearing about good hair days and bad, the newest product craze.......

Wiggilyhair-Thanks for writing a while back to check on me, that made me feel good. I'm doing fine, I had just been overloaded with working full time, helping with our family business, going to school full time, trying to build a house, and trying to be mom, wife, etc. I'm cutting back to part time at school though and the house is under contruction and should be done in a few months. I am making my life slow down a bit because at this pace I am not enjoying any of it.

Wow, it's been so long since I have been here. What is the newest/best product these days for wavy/wimpy/3a/2a hair? Mine has been really dry lately and not wanting to curl at all so the curling iron and I have become best friends :? I have always used the curling iron to touch up non curling areas like my canopy but it is worse now. I almost wonder if the dryness I have is protein build up from using the B&A gel daily?

I am still using the MOP C system hydrating shampoo which works well and I rotate between Too Shea & Elucence moisture bal. conditoiners but I really think I need to switch styling products. I am still using B&A gel (it's almost gone) but I would like to find something that would give me body without the crunch (I *have* to use a leave in under the B&A) I need decent hold but my hair is very fine and very wimpy so I have to watch using too heavy of products.

So, anything new I should know about or try? I haven't put a CurlMart order in in a long time :D

Hi Welcome back! I don't remember you because I've only been on about a year myself. But I'm glad you decided to come on again!

lushaholic 11-17-2006 03:09 PM

Welcome back Chelle!! :D Glad to hear you are doing well, even if very busy! Have you tried the new Devacurl gel called Arc Angell? It's supposed to be a conditioning gel and stronger than Angell. I have it but I admittedly don't use it very much. You might like some of the Curl Junkie products?

Wiggilyhair 11-17-2006 03:11 PM

Wow- welcome back!!! I had just mentioned you in a PM to Laurabeth just a few minutes ago! Freaky!!

Building a house-I'm jealous!

Some of the styling products that are getting a lot of mention around here that I can think of are Rusk Being Gusty, Garnier Fructis Soft Curl Cream and Regis Design Line Curl Lock Cream. Others will hopefully chime in with more possible HG's for poos, gels and conditioners.

Newbies-make sure to check out Chelle's hair pics. She has such pretty hair!

I'm loving all the Curly Junkie products but especially the two curl creams.

HI there Chelle, welcome back! I was a lurker when you were still posting I think but I"ve always loved your hair!

Curl junkie conditioners are nice to help out the winter dry hair. They have nice herbal essence gels now without protein. Totally twisted is medium hold and Body envy and Set Me up are stronger hold and both without proteins.
Arc angel is nice too just more expensive of course, I mean it IS Deva after all but I do love that one too.

My hair was acting funny for a while but since I've switched to Garnier Fructis Curl and shine conditioner (the rinse out mainly) it's been doing well. I swear I was cursing the heat and humidity now I'm missing the humidity. I'm never satisfied

Congrats on building a house, that's so exciting!

Welcome back Chelle! I've thought of you several times and missed seeing you around here. You are definitely one of my favorite curlies. 8)
I agree that Arc Angell and the Curl Junkie products are worth checking out. I like the Curls products too. I used Garnier Fructis sleek and shine leave-in on my hair today with good results.

LavenderCurls 11-17-2006 05:30 PM

Welcome back, my hair idol!!! I was thinking about you the other day although I have to admit, I couldn't recall the username but oh the hair  !

Like Iwantcurlyhair, I like the Curls products as well as the Garner Fructis products. Jessicurl is great, too.

laurabeth33 11-17-2006 05:35 PM

Chelle!!!! *waves madly* I still write about you when I'm testing a product ("Chelle would love the volume from this...") because you are just a defining wavy-curly!

You might want to look into getting some cream stylers for winter, especially when you're at your house site in the cold (so jealous like Wiggilyhair said). Boots Curling Cream still rules in that area. Sally's Generic PM the Cream and Being Gutsy are also good choices.

So glad to hear your voice, errr, read your post!

Welcome back!!!

I agree with Lush, you may like the ArcAngell, a little more hold than the Angell. Also, Curl Junkie has some pretty cool products too. I like their DT's and use them sometimes instead of the Jessicurl DT (it's still my fave though).

Welcome back! Good to see you again. :) Congrats on the house. Pop in when you can.

LadyCurlyLocks 11-17-2006 08:56 PM

Welcome back! From a fellow curly that joined in Sept. Glad to have you back, the more curlies the merrier :D

Ab-star 11-17-2006 10:02 PM

Welcome back! I looked at your pics, you do have great curls...and I love your color! :D

modegrrl 11-19-2006 01:09 AM

Hey, Chelle--glad to see you! Funny, I was looking at curling irons the other day--because my canopy is driving me crazy--and I thought of you because I got the idea from you. My next thought was, "I haven't seen her on the board in a long time." I was beginning to wonder if I'd missed a "goodbye, cruel board" post or something! (not that I can imagine you doing that)

Chelle 03-20-2007 09:46 AM

Ok.....five months later I reply :? Thanks for the warm welcome feels good to be remembered :D The girl who could never get enough volume.....that's must be from growing up in the 80's....

House is almost has been such a headache and I would probably never do it again but it is almost done and we shoud be moving in in about a month if all goes well. I'll post some pics when we get it finished.

I am going to hit Curlmart and look at some of the products you suggested.

Moddegrrl-Have you seen the T3 Twirl Curling iron? I was looking at it on and I want to try it so badly.....if nothing else it really looks cool :D

Doodles 03-20-2007 09:54 AM

Yay! Welcome back Chelle!! :D

Curly Girl Fla 03-20-2007 10:11 AM

:D Good to see your posts again! I used to sign in everyday knowing I would see your name popping up everywhere. Glad things are going so well for you-congrats on the house!!!

sfisher323 03-20-2007 12:32 PM

Welcome back! I just checked out your album and now really can't believe you complimented my hair as you did. You have great volume and curls/waves!

I can't imagine how much work building a house would be . . . but I've no doubt it'll be worth it when it's all over. We'll, of course, want to see pictures!

Aw, Chelle, don't be so hard on yourself. It was only 4 months later! ;)

I can't wait to see those pics of the house. :) You're building it yourself, or having it built?

We're having the kitchen redone, that's bad enough. But I can remember when we were waiting for our first house to be built--couldn't wait! (Sadly, we moved and sold it. I loved that house.)

LavenderCurls 03-21-2007 01:43 PM

I was just looking at her pics the other day so I knew she'd be back soon !

Okay, lest I sound like a hair album stalker, I had done a search on something and it brought up an old thread with a post from Chelle and I went looking again .
