Rinse with distilled white vinegar?

DH and I went to New Orleans for the weekend. The hotel had horrifically hard water that turned my hair into a rat's nest when it was wet. I *gasp* used a shampoo with sulfates to try to get the minerals out of my hair, but it didn't work all that well. I got home and used a sulfate shampoo to wash my hair, hoping I could get the minerals out with conditioned water. Guess what? It seems that it barely made a dent.

So now I'm hoping I can use some kind of rinse to get the rest of the minerals out and get my hair to feel normal and fantastically soft again.

I don't want to go out to buy ACV just for my hair, but I have DWV in my cupboard, so will that work, instead? Anything I need to adjust for the treatment?

Condish: CJ Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner
Shampoo (Sulfate-free): Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat (use 1-2x/week)
Styling Product: HETT mousse

TRYING to grow it out- maybe softer water and going almost strictly CG will help!
I have never done an ACV rinse myself, but based on the threads I read, lots of people who don't have apple cider vinegar use regular old white vinegar instead, and it works just as well. I believe user BoticelliBabe uses white vinegar to rinse, and her hair is AMAZING, so I think you should be fine! Hope it works out for you, and be sure to report back with results!

Yeah, anytime I've done diluted vinegar I just used the cheap white vinegar, not ACV.
