Burned Out! Confused! Help!

Hey Everyone...I am newbie. I have been wearing my hair curly for a long time, but in the past year, I have been trying to go more toward natural hair shampoos and conditioners. I have watched so many Youtube videos on different products to use and I think i have watched so many videos I am on overload. Eventually I would like to do the cowashing, but with me working out and trying to lose weight, it doesn't work out so well. For now I would love any suggestions for some affordable sulfate, alcohol, wax free shampoos and conditioners. I am just ready to find my kind of regiment. I have 3a curls and I do color my hair every 6 months and it is a bit course and thick. Please help!!!

My favorite drugstore products so far:
low-poo: KC Come Clean (a little more expensive than the others, but a little goes a long way), Giovanni 50/50. I've also heard many people rave about Renpure Organics (red bottle).
conditioner: Tresemme Naturals, Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition or Sleek and Shine.

A note about co-washing, since I had the same concerns... I do martial arts for 1-2 hours/day, 4-5 days/wk (high intensity interval training). My biggest concern was that co-washing would never get my hair clean enough because of all the sweat and grime. I found that I can use a lighter formula conditioner and co-wash most days. Typically I can co-wash for two days and then will low-poo on the third. The other option is a cleansing conditioner. The two I've tried are both salon brands (Deva Curl No Poo and Curl Junkie Daily Fix), but I noticed that L'Oreal just released one as part of their new Ever Creme product line. According to the product info, it's designed more as a shampoo/conditioner combo than a cleansing conditioner in the same sense as the DC and CJ products, but I did pick it up and was planning to try it tomorrow morning.

Sorry to be so lengthy- it just happens to be one of the issues I was looking at when deciding whether or not to try CG, so I can completely relate!

Agree wholeheartedly with the above poster. The only thing I can add is that Shea Moisture products are working really well for me right now.

It can all be very overwhelming. There are lots of different opinions and finding the ones that work for you can be trying. Hang in there! Read as much as you can here. Knowing that your curls are 3A only describes your curl pattern. You'll find products that work for you faster if you research your hair properties - texture, porosity, density. If your hair is fine, find others with fine hair and see what they use. If your hair is coarse, do the same. It will all fall into place in time.

A good thing for you to do is to determine your hair properties Live Curly Live Free - Home Once you know your properties, you can look for people with hair similar to yours and see what they use (in signature) and what they do. It's a good place to start.
