Question for 2C-3As about KC products...

It sounds like you've been doing lots of experimenting! That might have caused some product build-up that DevaCurl no-poo can't get out. Also, KCCC sometimes needs to be washed out of the hair with shampoo. I'd recommend clarifying with a gentle shampoo.

Maybe try styling your hair with just KCKT? I find it helpful with frizz, so perhaps that could help define your curls without weighing them down like the KCCC seems to do. Also, you might benefit from sealing with an oil to calm frizz. Argan is wonderful! Very lightweight but keeps moisture in and frizz out. If the KCKT alone isn't providing enough hold on its own and you need KCCC, I would use it in small amounts. Maybe you need a thinner product? Darcy's Botanicals Curling Cream-Gel and Jessicurl Rockin' Ringlets/Confident Coils are thin and won't weigh you don't. Haven't tried Jessicurl, but the DB is very good

I would also suggest to clarify first. I used to co-wash every day and seldom used a low-poo for about 1 year. 2 months ago I started to use either CJ DF or CK Clean Cream every day before my RO and it made a big difference. As I have hard water I assume that I had build-up on my hair before. And best thing,my hair didn't get dry from no-pooing every day...
Other thing to try is using a protein-heavy LI. I use SS protein treatment, CJCF or SSI okra as my LI before applying gels or jelly. That gives me hold and much less frizz.

I use KCCC but just a tiny little bit and it works best for me if I first apply a tiny little bit KCKT to detangle and second a little bit CJCF for my daily protein.

I'm 2cish and find that a modified routine works best for me. I do wash but only about every 3rd or 4th day. I find that in spite of having very thick hair that "less" product is a better option for me...too much weighs it down and makes it unmanageable and creates too much volume. Currently this is my routine...

Day One: Wash (sorry yes sulfate shampoo), condition (normally Burts Bees Mango or when DC using Loreal Evercreme), rinse cool water. I then use a microfiber towel to squeeze out moisture, add Curl Keeper and scrunch in, microfiber a bit more, then I plop with t shirt. When pressed for time I plop 15-20 min, if time permits up to an hour. Then I remove shirt and use clips randomly in crown where volume is needed. Sometimes I'll scrunch in a bit of Pantene Curly Mousse. At this point I apply my makeup and let my hair air dry and do not touch. I do like to sweep my bangs off to the side so I do pull my bangs out a bit to blow them out but other than that I air dry....LOL sometimes using the vents in my car to finish the job along the way to work then pull the clips out before walking in!

At night I no longer pineapple my just tangles my waves and forces me to use a wide tooth comb to detangle and it separates my curls too much. I let it down loose and use a silk pillow case (great investment!)

Day Two: Spritz my hair with water. Detangle underneath using my fingers only. Seems like when I detangle those curls the ones on top fall into place nicely. I add a bit more CK if needed and gently scrunch to encourage the curl back. Pantene mouse if needed then I quit touching! Over touching and working with my hair is another key step for me!

Day Three: Same as above

Day Four: Same as above.

Proteins are my enemy and DC are great but I can never go overboard or it seems to over inflate my hair. For me moderation is key!

I didn't know either if my hair liked protein or not. I also used the Deva products and thought for about a month that they must be the best products I could ever get because they worked so well. But after this month my hair got unruly, dry and kind of limp - the Deva products didn't work anymore. So I ordered samples from kathymack to figure out what could work. That was when I discovered that LI with lots of protein give me hold and make every styler work better. The only PT that I like is the Elucence one but I prefer to integrate the protein in my daily routine than to add a lot of protein at one time and beeing afraid of drying out my hair.

Never used products until I started lurking on I started out as a winter wavy/summer 3a until I found the right products/technique for my hair. Many of us start out with Deva, think we like it, and then move on to other things that perform much better.

Another important thing is rotating products. I wet, use a rinse out and style every day. Seldom let myself use anyone product more then once in five days.
