Why is my hair less curly without product?
So up here in New England we have a pretty big storm so I knew I wasn't going anywhere. I just took a shower to wake myself up and used conditioner. I decided not to waste any styling products b/c I'm not going any where.

Usually my hair is 3a/3b but without product it seems to be 3a/2c.... what is going on?

It is soft and I like the curls without product BUT it is incredibly frizzy.
With product I like the curls but it isn't nearly as soft.... but on the plus there is much much much less frizz.

I think it's just because the products help hold the curl ( which is why they may be a bit harder feeling) and they also make the curls more defined so that may be why your curl pattern looks a bit different. Personally my hair looks just as curly without product because I have tighter curls but without product my hair isn't as shiny, bouncy and neat looking. I also would never get second day hair without using product. My hair is soft without product but I like to add a bit anyway to make sure it doesn't dry out during the day. I think if you aren't going anywhere and your hair doesn't need product then it could be a waste to use it.

I'm so sorry about the storm, East Coasters. We had a thunder storm the other night and the people I was with were complaining about the rain. (Calfornians! :confused1:) I'm said, "Don't you people realize they're having a real storm on the other side of the country right now?" This after Sandy!

happycurls, I'm envious you're 3A unstyled because I'm 2C.
