This cream contains what???
On the commercial break from The Bachelor, I put in the Queen Helene's Cholesterol Hair Conditioning Cream in my hair to let it sit. Next commercial break, I read the ingredients of a product I've used for a long time and notice that the fifth ingredient in this conditioner is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.

Wait... what? I thought SLS was for shampoos, not conditioner? What gives??

I don't know what the use of it in a conditioner would be, but then again I spectacularly failed chemistry in high school. What's weird is that it's supposed to make your hair freak out and apparently that hasn't happened to you if you've been using it for such a long time and never noticed. Maybe the concentration is really really low?

Also, I laughed at your pointing out that you put it on during break from the bachelor...

It's a three hour finale!! I might as well deep condition while I cry. ;)

According to EWG, one of the functions of SLS is as an emulsifier. I'd guess that's why it's in the Queen Helene, which (if I recall correctly) has mineral oil fairly high up in the ingredients list.
