need a new conditioner
I need a new THICK conditioner...I finally found the suave naturals conditioner, its in coconut and wild strawberry, so i got the wild strawberry cause I'm trying to limit protein (both conditioners i was using had protein and my hair was becoming VERY wiry feeling) and the coconut appeared to have protein (am i right?) but i need something thicker to use after the sauve. I've been using garnier fructis pure clean fortifying conditioner, but i've read that fortifying conditioners have protein...i live in canada and I can't find many of the ones you girls all mention except giovanni (no devacurl, kinky curly, etc) are any of the giovanni ones thick? there were only 2 or 3 there...giovanni 50/50 balanced hydrating conditioner, tea tree, and giovanni brizillian keratin and argan oil ultra sleek conditioner (protein)

Given your other thread on tangling I'd recommend looking for a conditioner which contains one of the behentrimoniums high up in the ingredients list, they are very good for slip as are some oils. Could you order products online, Amazon eBay or the NC Curl Mart?

I don't see any protein in the Pure Clean but reading the NC reviews it's not supposed to be particularly good for slip or detangling and oils are a long way down the ingredients list (below fragrance!). I *think* Curly Hair Solutions might be a Canadian brand, you might check out the reviews on their products?

I found Giovanni conditioners to have pretty good slip, at least the ones that I tried. I wouldn't even bother with Curly Hair Solutions conditioner- it had no slip and no real moisturizing quality at all. I like several of their products, but not that one. Check the other Garnier Fructis conditioners. I know some have cones, but last I checked, there were two (including Pure Clean) that had no cones and two with only water soluble cones.

what does "slip" mean? can you name any conditioners with behentrimoniums high up on the list that i'd be able to look up online to buy?

Slip is the silky, slippery, easy detangling feeling you get with some products.

I was using the old formula Fructis Repair & Shine (AKA Triple Nutrition) for slip, but the new formula with silicones and without palm oil is horrible unfortunately. CG friendly brands that use behentrimonium that you might read reviews on to see if people are reporting good 'slip' include Curl Harmony, Komaza Care, Jessicurl and Devacurl.
