Curls are gone! I need some help...

I had been growing out my hair for about a year and a half with a few trims in between, and I was really liking the longer, looser spirals I was getting. Even the back of my hair was curling, which it never did short. I think my hair was probably a little past APL? Anyway, I had some split ends, so I really needed a haircut, and I wanted to try out a new style. Well, I came out of the salon with it back to shoulder length I really, really like the woman who cut it, though, and people say it fits my face a lot better than long hair, so I'm not upset...but I have no idea how to style this. I thought that my shorter hair would perk up into even curlier curls, but now it's just....fluffy? It went from 2c back to 2a. I do like making the tousled/messy look, but does anyone have any advice for styling shorter hair? Thank you!!!

When did you go to the hair dresser? Is it less than two weeks ago? If so: it can just be your hair having stress because it still needs to adapt to your new length.
(let's hope so)

If not: no idea, ask someone else who knows more about this then I do
