Hard water really makes a difference :(

Ok, this is probably a dumb question...but is there a quick way to determine if you have hard water? My hair has been the absolute pits for a long while now and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the house we moved into a year ago.

I'm pretty sure there's a map you can look up online that shows whether or not your region has hard water. I can't find it at the moment but perhaps you could Google around and see what you find.

We have hard water and I manage to keep my hair behaving with lots of good moisturizing products. I have long thick hair so rinsing with a bowl of purified water wouldn't work for me. If I was that bothered by hard water, I might think about a whole house water softener. I don't know what that would cost though and don't know whether you're a homeowner or an apartment dweller.....
