Hair changes due to humidity

Does anyone else find that their hair feels more wiry in high humidity and high dews? It's strange, because my hair kind of feels dry, but I know it's not dry. It seems almost like it has excess protein (it's very fibrous feeling), but I don't think that's an issue. My hair doesn't get curlier; in fact, it gets straighter. Today I used no gel but used the LCO method, and that made things slightly better. Does anyone else's hair react to high humidity like this in the summer?

My hair's shocking in high humidity, feels very wiry and coarse and I'm completely unable to control the frizz that happens. My hair is the fine side of normal, not coarse at all, it's like it takes on a whole new personality! More often than not the curls tighten up, but there are occasions when it just kind of droops, I have no idea what the difference is that makes this happen.
I detest humid weather and dread it, luckily I live in a generally very dry climate.

Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone! It is so crazy. It really does feel coarse, but I know that my hair is fine, with the coarsest strands probably being medium. And like you say, some days it is limp and flat in the humidity, but other days it feels wiry.

Today for second-day hair I wet my hair down about halfway with water from the faucet. Then I added a straight hair serum from Intelligent Nutrients (works really well on wavy hair for frizz) and some CJ Beauticurls leave-in. I didn't add any oil to seal because my hair was a little greasy yesterday because I used a little too much shea butter to SOTC. But I apparently should have used something for a third layer, because I could feel that over the course of a few hours, my hair was absorbing the humidity and was getting flatter and frizzier. When I got home, I put some dry shampoo between my palms and scrunched my hair, and that helped get rid of the greasy look (my hair was still looking a little greasy) as well as added some volume.

This is the first time I have gone without gel in my life. I feel like the hard-hold gel just weighs my hair down in the humid weather. I might start another post to see if anyone else feels the same way.

I have fairly fine (in some places) Type 2 hair, but in humid weather, it not only swells, but kinks up so that I'm almost a 3. Even my bangs (fringe) change (s).

I know another 2 who has the same issue.

Mine swells and curls up but also gets undefined so think... like cotton candy but with some curls. It's hideous. In fact today I used Ouidad climate control gel because it was like soup outside (at 430 am!) and I had a conference. I hate what Ouidad does to my hair (stringy) but knew that would be better than the above-mentioned cotton candy head (anyone ever see that episode of Friends when Monica went to the bahamas?)

I remember that episode well, I was looking pretty similar during my rainy trip to Melbourne in the summer! I'd forgotten my hair could get that big.

Absolutely not! Not that I mind big hair, but this was not a good example.

Mine gets like that too, it's horrible!
