Diffusing my hair makes it look flat!

Hello everybody! A curly noobie here!
After almost 30 yeard of fighting against my hair, I have discovered that I have curly hair, not rebel hair! I do cowash and s2c and I plop with gel and leave-on conditioner. From the first time I did the CG method I could see my beautiful curls come to life and I have never been happier!
I thought "LET'S TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL!" and I bought a diffuser 3 days ago. The first time I used it it looked GORGEOUS but after 2 hours my curls started to look flat (this doesn't happen when I let it airdry).
So I did it again yesterday, I diffused but this time I also applied mousse. Again, the end result was beautiful. I pineappled and went to bed. This morning my hair is flat and sad again. It looks wavy, not curly. I guess I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what.

I diffused with my hair upside down, I put my curls softly into the diffuser, I placed it against my scalp and I turned it on low fan and cold air. I turn it off before taking it to another section of hair. After 10 or so minutes I lose my patience and I use it on medium heat and when I feel the scalp warm I turn the heat to cold. I stop when my hair is almost 100% dry.

Can someone please help me with this? I don't want to think I throw money to the garbage buying this diffuser
Thank you so so much!!
Maybe is the pineapple, when I tried it once and my hair went flat. Try diffusing in the morning and see what happens or wrap your hair in a sating or silk scarf. Keep in mind that overnight you may loose curl definition.
You may try a gel, I find that it gives more definition than a mousse.
For the diffusing technique, in the past I would apply product and blow dry my hair on high speed and heat to shake the water then diffuse. Nowdays what has worked is to let dry up to 50-60%. Then I diffuse on low speed and start with high heat until I feel warm, switch to low heat and end with cool. I do it in every section for about two minutes each and my hair holds for the day. In this way it will save you time diffusing, you could do make up or breakfast before diffusing (if it is in the morning). The gel will help you keeping definition, and try all the methods and products application until you find what works best.

I'll try your diffusing technique and see what happens!
