Edited: Wedding Hairstyle? (Scroll down :))

Edited to add a question about a wedding hairstyle - please scroll down to post #8!

I mainly post on the non-hair board, but lately my hair has been acting up so I've been lurking here, too. Over the past few years, my hair has been getting less curly, due to a variety of factors. Lately, it had been refusing to hold a curl for more than a few hours - it'd start out looking nice and then devolve throughout the day into a poofy, half-wavy, half-frizzy mess.

So I went to a new stylist yesterday and she suggested cutting long layers into my hair and doing a little "texturizing" to take out some of the bulk. I was a little wary, but it turned out great. The general shape of my cut is the same as when I went in, but it's curlier than it's been in months, and it's stayed curly all day. It also feels about half as thick as it was before the cut, which is kind of nice for muggy summer weather.

Your new hairdo is cute! I'm glad you found success with the new cut.
2a/M-C/ii hair. Super long.
Your hair looks great! It looks so shiny & healthy.

3A hair; coloring with henna/indigo since July 2009; normally follow the CG method. Still searching for my HG products!

Thanks everyone! I'm still loving it several days later. It's finally just wash-and-go!

My Motto: Strand Test! some hair pics
-- gone, but never forgotten.
Wash and go.........
I always thought that was a made up fantasy.

Just kidding - congrats and they look great : )
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it.....Piss on it and walk away.

LOL! Okay, so maybe it's more like wash-condition-put in gel-and-go hair. But I don't have to play the whole "avoid mirrors while it's drying...desperately seek a mirror once it's dry to get rid of the crunch" game.
Since I already had pics up (and I always have trouble linking pics), I thought I'd guano my own thread and ask a question. I'm going to a wedding on Saturday and I'm having trouble deciding what to do with my hair. It's a little too short to put up, but I'm afraid that if I leave it all down I'll fuss with it all day. It's an outdoor wedding, so I can see wind + humidity doing a number on it (or at least making me paranoid). Any suggestions about what to do with it? Thanks!
Three suggestions, none of which may be helpful since I'm no fashionista:

-Use a single barrette to pull back the hair from your face on the left side. When my hair isn't touching my face I have a way easier time forgetting about it and not fudging around with it.

-Go for a glorious, elegant ca-1920s bob style!

-Tuck your hair behind both ears for a different look. It keeps part of it fairly controlled behind your ears, and the rest of it you won't be able to see anyway. This will probably straighten the curl out of those strands in the front, but that looks kinda cool too.

If this function is outside, chances are everyone else is going to be subject to the same weather-related hair that you are. Nobody will think any less of you if it's a little messy!

maybe a loose, messy bun with some curls around your face?
I'm less broke, but still thrifty. Show me the budget-friendly, quality products.
