what drying method gives you the "clumpiest" curls
my curls are naturally somewhat stringy, so i have been (somewhat fruitulessly) trying to find the best way to dry my hair to get really clumpy curls! so far this is what i've done & the results:

plopping: gives me curl at the roots, but definitly not clumpy curls

just scrunching: good clumpy curls, but frizzy and undefined at the roots

combing through and then scrunching in product: nothing special, just kinda stringy curls and not much curl at roots, but much less frizz & more defined than just scrunching.

"turban"esque wrap: works fairly well sometimes, sometimes not.

one day i had these AMAZING clumpy curls... wow it was really the best hairday of my life!! haha. i gotta get some of those pictures in my flickr album. anyways, i hate myself now because i totally forgot what routine i used that day... grr...

hey fluffy...

this works for me but then every curly head is unique...

I apply my conditioner whilst standing up in the shower and then for a final rinse i'll bend forward from the waist so my hair is the worng way up then rinse but only for a few seconds (i leave quite a bit of conditioner in), i find if i rinse too much it gets stringy underneath. Then i gently shake my head forward and backwards and then side to side jut to break the curls up a little and then scrunch in my product into soaking wet hair. I'll then "scrunch" dry a little with a MF/curlease towel and gently bring my head the right way up and leave to air dry the rest of the way. This gives me nice clumpy curls around the crown / side and slightly less clumpy curls around the underneath / back of my head.

I have found that when I am rinsing my cond if I scrunch while doing that and then scrunch all my products in (some right side up then upside down at the end) it helps my clumping size.

What gives me the best clumpy curls is leaving a lot of condish in when I rinse with cool water, not raking my fingers through but rather smoothing on product, and finger/wet setting super stringy curls before light diffusing on cool and no-touch air drying.

1. Rake in lots of product so that I almost have a "seaweedy" feel

2. Scrunch heavily so that clumps form, the fewer the better

3. Don't touch for 8+ hours [haha, not likely!]
