Pics of my hair..hoping it works I can't figure out how to put my picture up in my message, so hopefully putting up some links will work.
First one will be 7/26/07...I did a co-wash and then conditioned and "raked/combed" through my hair with my fingers...ouch! I rinsed and then did a salt water rinse and after I was done and my hair was soaking I used about 4 puddles of Angell. This would be my 2nd day of Modified CG...until I can get everything to be fully CG

Next is the front of my hair on the same day...usually the more problematic you can see the sides for some reasons don't curl even though I do the same exact things and scrunch the same way...and for all of you who saw my other post...there is my dreaded baby hairs on my forehead!!! Sorry about the pic but wasn't having a good "face" day.

Finally...this was a few days ago with my "2nd Day Hair"...

So first of all, hopefully you guys will get to see these pics if I did it correctly. 2nd, your opinions one what type of hair that I am...I am saying a 2C but I am not sure...and last, if anyone's got any good tips for me now that you see what my hair looks like...I am waiting for a bottle of Re:coil to come so maybe that will give me some real curls ***HOPING***

Hope this works...Thanks my new curly family!!!!

Your hair is beautiful.

I get some of those odd hairs too that don't quite wanna curl somedays. On days i'm motivated I've tried using sponge rollers while it's drying, but those days are few and far between and Im so stupid with girly stuff, I can't quite figure them out.

Have you tried plopping yet?

jo4481 07-26-2007 10:34 PM

Saw your pix have some great curls...yeah I forgot to write that down, that I did plop for the 7/26 pics...thats why its just so wierd that the front hairs don't curl if its still all plopped and scrunched the same way...unpredictable do-whatever-they-want-curls!!!!!

Hi Josie,
Try the r:coil when it comes in, it could be the parts of your hair that you said were highlighted many times that aren't curling well. Keep conditioning. I like your hair and you don't look like a boy. I'm not too far from you. I'm in Old Bridge

Your pics look great!! I think you are a 2C. I love your color and length too, very pretty! :) I hope the recoil works for you! It smells yummy, like vanilla.

Your hair is beautiful! I would say 2C as well but you might find as you go along it gets curlier!! I had issues with plopping and the front of my hair as well but as it gets longer (I am only shoulder length) it gets better for me.

It's your AVs taking over your body! :D

I still feel kinda new to all this but...I wonder if maybe when you're plopping your pulling on those front, side strands of hair (or they're getting flattened with the towel) and thats why they're a little straighter than the rest of your hair. I think that is what is happening to me. Maybe you could experiment with leaving the very front strands out of the towel when you plop.

I love your hair though. Very nice color and curl. I wish my hair was that length.

Your hair is beautiful!

My hair doesnīt curl on the sides too, so I have to pull it up.
I really donīt know why. I thought (as curlyclaudia posted) that it could be damged. But after several years on the CG routine and no more straightening, it is definetly not damaged and the sides still don't curl. :?

Love the hair.I`m happy to see someone here with that hair because a girl in my class has the exact same hair but she put gel in it and it look like spirals(her hair look like a thin 3B) I wanted to ask her if she was born with the highlights. Are the highlights natural?

Hey Josie,
I tried talking to you last night in the chat room  Anyway, I like your hair, and perhaps maybe the front sides aren't curling because they are a little drier than the rest of your hair? It might take a a few weeks to total pop out the curl i would think. I'm new to CG also, and I have alottt to learn but i've been coming to this site everyday since i've become CG and i've been learning several things every time:D I love it BTW. (I need to take some proper pics) But here's an example of mine today-taken from the front)
Keep on conditioning and see what happens  I've been experimenting little by little... Still a bit scared but so far it's been going well...
See how my front curls are not as curly as the ones in the back. Maybe it has to do with length and also with the fact that it's bleached alot more in the front... I noticed the parts of my hair that are over bleach from the overhighlighting tend to be straighter and not curl as much as the rest of my hair that isn't as highlighted. SUCKS. But I think i'm going back to dark in a month to let my hair rest awhile with the color.
Hope that helped... [/img]

Thanks to everyone who left me feedback...I think that must be it...the fact that hair stylists always make sure the sides are highlighted since they are what you see the most, so since everytime I did, those pieces got bleached over and over, thats prob why they won't curl. Also, I am trying to pay more attention when I plop and trying to put my sides more in the middle and that is helping a little bit. Hopefully when I get my re:coil it will help. I can't wait to buy more CG friendly products so my hair can get healthy and curly.
Thanks again girls!!!

my hair always seemed to have very uneven curly patterns too and especially on the canopy fronts - tended to frizz out or look dry. I've only been doing this about 10 days but here is what I did that I think made a difference:

1. First I only plopped for a minute or two and then let my hair dry naturally. Well for me, with super fine hair, the water weighed it down and it looked blah. So now I plop (keep in a microfiber turban) longer and diffuse about 5-10 min. This helped with body and frizz.

2. I was combing my hair out (and sometime not) and putting gel on after getting out of the shower and the towel. Under the advice of someone here I decided to comb in the shower with devaone in my hair, then rinse, flip over and apply my gel on sopping wet hair and OMG what a difference - much more even and defined curl.

Also, each day my hair tends to look less frizzy and damaged, so keep it up and see. Your second day hair looks soo much curlier! Wow! My hair is too fine for good second day hair I think!

BTW your hair is pretty - love the length and thickness *envious* - just keep conditioning and try some different techniques with styling. And you don't look anything like a BOY!

I think you have gorgeous hair. I guess you'd be a 2c, if you say so..I am a 2c also but the very ends and tips of mine are straighter (I did permanently straighten mine about a year and a half ago though so the entire bottom half of my hair is straightened and still gets some waves.) But the ends of yours look like real curls to me. (so at least some 3a?) I hope eventually my ends will curl like that, maybe after my haircut today.
We'll have to post more pics after we have done CG for a few months. Best of luck to you, but it looks great right now!
