I need a hair gel/styler

I am looking for a protein free, silicone free hair gel or styler that doesn't dry crunchy ( or minimal crunch) and will leave my hair shiny. I prefer somthing I can by at a BBS or drug store ( I have them all Ulta, Sallys, TJ, whole foods, target, walmart etc) and relatively inexpensive (under $10). Any suggestions?
I haven't updated that site in a while. In fact, if anyone wants to take the list over from me I'm more than willing.

dxwash, my current HG is herbal essences Totally Twisted gel, for all the reasons you described. Enjoy!

I am now completely out of the closet as the craziest of crazy cat ladies. I own it. I embrace it. I am one with the crazy.
I'm a huge fan of LA Looks gel ... been using Sport Look since I started CG back in May. Going to try the new Durahold soon though. Anyway, the sport look is CHEAP only like $2, doesn't crunch badly unless you use a lot of it, and it has good hold and frizz control.

Someone on another forum recommended the following:

Aura Flaxseed Aloe Sculpting Gel
*No silicones or drying ingredients.

You can get it at Sally's Beauty Supply

Lois System: OS-Thick-Spongy
Andre: 4a
Least expensive but still proffessional and WORKS WELL I think is
Paul Mitchells Super sculpt, sometime seen with an apple on it.
Proffessional but a little more expensive would be AQUAGE defining Gel or DEVA Angell
Both GREAT products
Aubrey Organics Mandarin magic Jelly -- get at Whole foods or Vitamin Shoppe

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
