Calling all Curl Keeper users
I've been using CK under a gel, since June, with really good results. My question is, is this just a summer/humidity product? Or do people generally use this all year round? Do you think it enhances curl formation as well as reduces frizz? I was worried that maybe in the cooler weather it might weigh my fine hair down. Also, how much of this are you supposed to use? Finally, what is your favorite gel to use over this? Thanks.

I think of CK as a frizz buster, but I know others on use it as a curl enhancer. Take your pick.

I use it under Gelebration and CCSS, I use two dime size puddles. Fingers are crossed that it'll continue to bust my frizz through the winter.

I will swap out styling products and rotate pink boots and re:coil in my product pile when the cooler months hit, but I won't give up CK.

I find I don't have to use it in the winter, thank goodness, since it's pricey. But some have to use it year round - just depends on your hair. I find it doesn't do anything for curl formation on me and you can use it under anything - cream stylers, gels or mousses. I use it under all those and it works great.

It seems to make my hair greasy. Anyone else have this problem? I was only using a little bit.

I use about 2-3 quarter sized puddles in my hair and I dont notice the greasies at all. And you know I have fine/thin hair. I find it sooo fascinating how one product works so differently for everyone. Fascinating but also difficult.

I use CK by itself. I would like to use it in the winter and this product keeps my curls intact and less friz. Does anyone use it in the winter?

YES! Me too :( I wonder why? What products are you using currently? Seems like our hair is very similar. Mine is so sensitive to oils and I can't use any proteins otherwise I get dry, straw like hair.
I've tried Jessicurl but those have too much oil. I've tried Deva products and the only item I kept was the low poo.
Last week I used HE Set me up and was having good luck but now I see my hair is getting weighted and greasy looking. I'm going to try using HE TT again and see how long that lasts. IF we had any humidity here - I could easily get away with going product free -- but it's just too dry.
CK worked great the first week and then I got greasy looking :(
What condish are you using? I'm still looking for one! Someone suggested Elucence but that has wheat protein.

I use it in the winter more than in the summer.

Winter, I can get by with a little leave-in plus CK. I known that CHS says to "drench" your hair with CK but I can't use that much.

It tends to pull curl out for me instead of enhancing curl. It doesn't give me straight hair, just when I use a lot, I get long weird bendy hair (instead of ringlets). Also, when I use a lot, I get stringy, piecey hair.

I usually smooth one little puddle on top and one underneath for frizz management.

I have lived on CK this summer (under a gel), and I can't remember my hair looking this good in the summer in a LONG time! However, last winter when I tried it, I hated it. I had stringy curls with no bounce at all. So once the cooler, less humid weather arrives, I'll be switching back to re:coil under the gel, which worked well in the winter months.

I used CK under BRHG all summer with good results. I thought I would try something different since we have had a string of cooler days here. I used it under PMSF and it turned out great! Very light, but plenty of hold. I just used more than my normal pool of CK and the foam. I posted a pic of my results in my Fotki.

I use it year round with a Suave gel on top. I'm one of those curlies who doesn't change products from season to season. Works for me! :D
