This should help, too - it's a mongo list of ingredients found in haircare products and what they do.

My 2cents is if you've already trained your Locks to no "cones" there is a chance this might not work for you. I don't know why DevaOne-C uses amodemethicone but I do know when I stopped using it and switched to TIGIMM my hair was much happier,

LL, I'm kind of surprised you found the scent to be too strong. Do you have a sensitive sniffer? I actually thought it was a little muted as opposed to most haircare products.

Maybe the day of purchase I had allergy problems that made me stuffy & muted my sense of smell. Maybe my sense of smell was affected by something else, making it more sensitive.

It could be a combo of things in Deva but even when I stopped everything else and kept up with the DevaOne-C my hair didn't feel right. It was BETTER but not all better I cut it out completely. You may just have to Low-Poo once in a while but don't be TOO disappointed if it stops working some people still use Deva and love it. Maybe you're not too "cone" sensitive! I just know that I am and rudee recently had to stop the LOOB because of the cone in that so be careful with the cones!!

OH.

MY.

GAWD.

Ok, many (if not all) of you know that I have horrendous tangling issues on the underside of my hair where it rubs against my shoulders, right? Well, get this - I was about to get ready for bed and plop a pineapple, like I always do. I instinctively went to grab my brush to detangle that section before wetting it for plopping, when I realized...THERE AREN'T ANY TANGLES!!!

My hair is still silky soft and smooth, and I didn't use any cones! Cripes - even when I WAS using cones, they never worked this well. Aw crap...now I'm gonna have to buy every bottle of this stuff until I see the a-cone in the ingredient list. *lol* DH is gonna have a FIT!

whatsercurl, you might want to give this stuff a shot anyway. It's THAT good.

Thanks for the rec, and for all the knowledge you've shared!

It's truly amazing, KindaWavy - I couldn't believe what it did for me in just one wash. I'm still not tangled, and tonight, it'll be 48 hours. For me, that's unheard of!

As far as posting all the time, it's my pleasure. I'm a SAHM with a little time to kill here and there, and I know there are a LOT more lurkers than posters here, so I just try to help out when and where I can. Also, since I can't afford the high-buck stuff all the time (here and there as a present to myself, but not on a regular basis - that's for sure!), I figure my grocery and drugstore experiments might come in handy for somebody! Besides - I know that I learned a lot from tons of other regulars here, and I feel like I kinda owe the board, KWIM?

I'm attatching a pic from amazon for anybody wanting to try this and wondering what to look for on the shelf. Make sure you get the one for curls and waves, and not straight hair!

Hi, before I went CG this was my favourite shampoo/conditioner. I used the light version though, so there wouldn't be too much build up and it worked great for a long time, though after a while it wasn't as good, but I guess its one of those things you can't use all the time and get perfect results. It did work great though, I was so sad when I started CG and saw the cone in there...
This is really strange
Today I went to morrisons (local supermarket) and these were on 'buy one get one free'! I checked the ing. and the conditioner contained the A-cone but I looked at the shine mask conditioner and this was cone free??, and contained the ing. of the American version eg. palm oil ect,

I'm thinking about trying it now.... BB you are soooooo bad!!!

I probably should go back and edit my OP, because I'm almost 100% certain there is no amodimethicone in this conditioner. I know once a thread gets a certain size, not everybody goes back and reads the whole thing - just the first few posts - and I don't blame them. There's a lot of info in these things!

Anyway, yeah. I'll go do that. In the meantime, I'ma keep using it and I'll let you all know when/if I get buildup. *lol*

Now that I know how it makes my hair feel (yummy, soft, and totally touchable, BTW!), and that it gives me great definition and curls even when I air dry (!), you had better believe I'll be getting more next week when we go shopping again. Besides - right now, it's a bonus-sized bottle with the big "33% more free" banner on it. So double yay!

I did check the ingredient list since there was a little confusion, and there's absolutely no a-cone (or any other cones) listed! I thought the scent and consistency were fine, and my air-dried hair looks pretty darn good! I'll post again when I see how it survives the night - I'd really enjoy having better day 2/3 hair.

Long story short, THANKS BB for sharing, and aiding and abetting a blossoming PJ!

Hell's fire..!!!!!

The minute I out it on my wed head, the tangles parted like Moses parted the red sea!

Smooth, instant smoothness....just like when I first used honey. I used a scalp brush to comb it thru my wet hair cus I forgot m y Denman brush in the other bathroom. No frigging snaggin, just smoooooooth comb thru. It felt so good. It created a smooth sheet of wet hair. Ahhhhhh....

I followed up with gel in wet hair, and am currently plopping. Tomorrow will tell the true story on how it turns out...so far, Im liking it!

You betch'ca!

And lauralee too?? We got another one!!! *lol* And thank you for checking the ingredients, lauralee - now I'm almost completely certain that aside from the UK version that mumofcurlygirl found, the conditioner doesn't have the dreaded a-cone like I originally thought. Damn walgreens.com - got me all skeert for nuthin'!

I can't escape the growing PJ inside of me! Agh! So many products to try... *suddenly Arcana begins to fall to the ground, seeming to struggle with an internal beast, cries out and suffers a dramatic, bad horror movie death at the hands of the PJ inside* (or at least my wallet does, what you people do to my poor university student budget)

I want to run away and join the Cirque.
