Wondering about scrunching out the crunch..

I dont have many stong hold CG gels available here besides the Herbal Essences ones..and Set Me up was drying so i switched back to HEBE which gives me 2nd hair day maximum..
I was wondering...for longer hold..if you dont scrunch out the crunch after your hair's styled and dried, does it make the hold last longer- as in does it make a difference whether you scrunch it out or not. Have any of you experimented with scrunching it out or instead just letting it be and sleeping on it...frizz issues?
I've tried doing that - taking a shower at night and not scrunching out the crunch (I'm pretty sure I used HE SMU gel). It did help the curls stay, but it was definitely frizzier because I slept on it all night.

Low poo: Trader Joe's Tea Tree
Co-wash: VO5 Vanilla Mint Tea

DT: Jessicurl WDT
Leave-in: Giovanni DLI, Komaza CLI
Styling: Komaza Coconut Pudding, HE BE gel, KBB Cream to SOTC
Tried it with HEBE a couple times. Did my hair at night and didn't bother SOTC before bed. Never saw much of a difference in my hair than when I do SOTC. I also spritz and a little gel and/or CK in the morning though. Might've been different had I done nothing after getting up.

i've never seen any difference. i prefer not to sleep unless it's completely dry anyway..frizz issues... i prefer to SOTC when it's about 90% dry with some Lustrasilk.
