Trying Living Proof today - fingers crossed

My hair has been horrible so I caved and bought LP wave shaping, curl defining cream for med/thick hair. My hair is on the thin side but I color it so the website suggested this cream because it is more moisturizing.

I forgot to use a leave in underneath . Have to meet someone I haven't seen in a long time today and would like to look good!

Dews are around 60 which isn't totally ghastly for me, but should be enough to get an idea of how well this works. Will report back!

I tried the spray for thin to med hair. I could tell a difference and liked it, but in 3 applications I'd used half the $14 bottle. It was nice, but not that nice. I might, might, might try the cream later, but I'm worried about it weighing my hair down.

Overall, it was nice, but if I'm going to use it up that fast, I'd rather find an alternative.

curlypearl, I'm really interested in your results; I'm in the same boat. My hair has been ghastly, tangled, knotted, frizzy up the whazoo.

I need to get my hands on a the Sally GVP protein treatment but can't get it here in Canada or find the Nexxus Emergencee here either.

I'm about ready to cave and get the LP stuff just for some control.
Well, Living Proof is different! Very. The problem is that the dewpoint never got about the mid-high 50's and that isn't a definitive test for my hair at all. It needs to reach into the 60's for me to really judge how it is reacting to high dews.

That said - WOW - this stuff is so different. My hair has never looked anything like this. It isn't what I expected. I usually hope mightily for soft full curls and clumps. I didn't get that and I'm going to have some trouble explaining what I did get - but I totally LOVE it!!! I hate stringlets but this is something like stringlets but like a beautiful soft very full halo of pretty stringlets that aren't really stringy. Sorry - I just don't know how to describe it and don't have a camera. There is NO frizz. It's so pretty. I forgot to use a leave in but it didn't matter. It looks like I never damaged it with color and looks very healthy and sexy! It feels soft. I'm shocked. I want to kiss the chemists.

Frizzly, this isn't a substitute for protein. I definitely see a big difference when I use Nexxus Emergencee - isn't there some way you can get some? The Living Proof is a styler - and unique in a way that I am not describing well, but I will continue to need protein and conditioner like always.

I am very interested to hear other opinions on this stuff and see what happens overnight. I never get second day hair and the first day usually takes forever to dry. This dried quickly and hasn't changed all day. I need to see what happens if I use it a few times.

Good luck everyone and please post if you try this. Maybe Kathymack can put it in her arsenal so that fellow curlies can try samples. I'm still Agog

Curlypearl; did you also use the shampoo and conditioner with the styler? or did you use the product with your regular cleansing and conditioning things?

I'm mainly interested in the conditioner and the styling creme. I'm probably going to order these in the near future.

What I'm most concerned about is the whether co-washing is enough to cleanse the hair with these products. I'm not savvy enough to understand the shampoo ingredients so I have no idea if is CG friendly but I may get some for insurance.
There are several threads on Living Proof if you use the Google Search function (too many to cut and paste here!). I like the Wave Shaping/Curl Defining Treatment for Thick/Coarse Hair as a styler on very high humidity/dew point days. I bought the $14/2oz. size and it's lasted several months (but I don't use it all the time. I've probably used it 4 or 5 times). I tried the shampoo/conditioner and didn't like it after 3 uses. HTH!

Hair bio:

Hi, I didn't use the shampoo or conditioner with the styler. I used Deva Lo Poo and VO-5 Blackberry Sage Tea Therapy Conditioner (my favorite) both are CG.

The first day I got these fabulous ringlets I guess you could call them - that's where I posted that I never had curls like that. The second day I just co-washed with the VO-5 conditioner and used the styler and again got amazing results. But I can't say anything for sure because the dews were in the 50's yesterday (the second day).

This week the dews are supposed to be horrible so I will use the LP then and report back for sure. I hope hope hope it will continue to give me these pretty ringlety type curls - again they are so different from what I usually get that I'm not sure I am describing them well. All I know is that if I get half this good results with high dewpoint, it will be my HG for sure. And it doesn't take forever to dry.
