Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Gel

I used Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Scrunching Gel for the first time today, and it made my curls super crunchy and my hair is really frizzy, even though it claims to diminish frizz. I'm bummed, because I'd heard it was a good gel. Has anyone else had this problem?
No, but I'm glad you mentioned this because I was thinking of trying it. A while back I tried Herbal Essences Set Me Up Gel and also thought it was mediocre.

The best luck I've had with frizz has been using Living Proof No Frizz but its expensive. If frizz is driving you nuts (like it did to me) check out their website. I also tried CK which did nothing for me.

If you find something else that you love that fights frizz, please post it.
2/c Coarse hair med. density.
Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....
Every day is a gift
Uh-oh...I just bought this gel today. I loved how it smells and it sucked me right in.

I did, however, make flax seed gel today and it took away my 2nd-day frizz. Maybe it could work for you? I'm sorry, I don't know how to post links, but if you look under the recipes section it's under the "No-Fail Flax Seed Gail" thread.

Good luck with your hair!
I had the same problem.
I keep using it, hoping for the results everyone else says they get from it, but yet I still have terribly frizzy hair...
I switched products and am much happier.
Hair Type: 3b /3a?.... medium texture, normal porosity

Aussie Moist

Shampoo: Organix Shampoo

Other products: Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam Mousse, LA looks Sport gel, & whatever is cheapest for a frizz serum.

I've never had this problem. I always use a leave in conditioner underneath my gel, which i assume would help with curl formation. So maybe you could give that a shot.
It doesn't have enough hold. It's too bad, as I absolutely positively adore the smell! I find it best for SOTC. HESMU is an okay medium hold gel. I will only continue to use it until I find other gels.
Cleanser: Liquid Castile Soap diluted in a foaming soap dispenser
ACV rinse
Oyin Handmade Greg Juice or Juices and Berries
Stylers: Botticelli Botanicals Styling Mudd, KCCC, Honey Rinses and BRHG, Crack Leave-in Hair Cream when straightening

Tools: Silk pillowcase, Floursack towels, Jersey T-Shirts, Wide Tooth Comb, Velecta Paramount TGR-VQX Hair Dryer (for when I straighten) and BaByliss PRO Ionic Rollabout Hard Hat Dryer
I've been using it for over two years and it works great for me.
Proudly CG since 8/10/06 - the story of my hair!
Type: 3a/b, very thick
Length: almost BSL wet
Products: Suave coconut conditioner, coconut oil, Totally Twisted gel

Don't forget to be awesome!
To some degree there isn't much point in listening to what everyone says about a particular hair product. Looking at the ingredients and talking to people about them if you're confused is useful, but everyone's hair is unique so it's kind of trial and error. If you want to hear about other people's results with a product, look for ones with the same hair texture, porosity, and curl type.

I use HETT gel and don't mind it. I apply it to soaking wet hair with AOHR or AOWC under it. I don't get crunch from it. For frizz I just put some conditioner or leave-in conditioner on my hair when it's dry. I rub a little dollop between my hands and gently glide my hands over my hair and sometimes do a bit of scrunching.
