Should I get a keratin?

My natural hair has never been dyed or chemically treated, and I can count on two hands the number of times I've ever heat styled it. I'm 18 and healthy, so I don't really see why my hair is so dry and frizzy, but it is I'm white and my hair is about a 2c with very healthy straight hair underneath the damaged curls/waves up top. I've been wondering if I should get a keratin treatment because I'm tired of having to put so much effort into my curls just for them to be dry and frizzy every day. But, I'm afraid I'll lose my natural hair if I ever want to go back. Should I get a keratin treatment? And if so, what kind should I get? My hair is a virgin to any sort of treatment or chemicals, so I really don't know what to expect thanks!
hey, and welcome .

i think if it was me, i would not get the keratin thingy. i believe it takes a really long time to wear off.

if you tell what products you're using, i and others may be able to help you figure out whats causing the dryness.
Thanks! I've been using tigi urban antidotes resurrection (stage 3) shampoo and conditioner since Christmas and the aussie moist 3 minute miracle deep conditioner every time I wash my hair (used to be once every 3 days, now more like every other day). After my shower, I just squeeze/blot with a towel, comb through, and apply garnier fructis triple nuttition curl nourish leave-in conditioner
But, I started using this Shea Moisture Raw Moisture Retention sulfate free shampoo last week, along with the 2 conditioners and the leave in product I'd been using previously
hi, .

i think it might be the cones in the Tigi shampoo are causing buildup
Keratin is a good treatment for smoothing hair. But personally I love The Best JUVEXIN Treatment. Pure natural with outstanding results. An expensive one but the price worth it because its one application will keep your hair straight, smooth and soft for up-to 5 months.

Rmshoe - I've gotten many Keratin treatments - Coppola Keratin, Coppola Express, and Brazilian Blowouts for about 7 years. I love them!! They make my hair frizz free and soft, and I don't have to flatiron my hair. My natural curls have always come back once the Keratin washes out, usually after 3 or 4 months.
Hair Type - wavy/curly, fine texture, thin/medium density

anniemae - Most of the times I get it from the salon because getting it done from a salon offers the best results and as I mentioned in my previous post hair remains smooth and healthy for almost 5 months. And the Juvexin Treatment is from GKhair brand. I am using their products from the last 2 years and I am more than satisfied with their quality as well as results. As a reference you can check GKhair care products here.

There are SO many types of Keratin treatments, and I agree that salon experiences are the best ones! My friend works with the Korean keratin kinds, and after her treatments my hair has never been better
Hi !
I used to do all sorts of Japanese straightening and keratin treatments. My hair is thick, wavy and frizzy with breakage. I stopped using salon treatments and began 'co-washing' (conditioner only) every other day or so and using sulfate free shampoo only about once a week. Shampooing is very drying. I also added thisVitalshot into my hair regimen, it's an at-home keratin treatment I purchase from Amazon (~$5/use) and apply every three weeks or so. Since I started using this and not shampooing frequently, I find my hair is much shinier and manageable with no frizz at all :dance My friends cannot believe I even had frizz!! I also just purchased Moroccan Oil intense Hydrating treatment to try. Haven't used it yet, but I'll report my results back. It has great reviews both online and from my friends. Good luck
