If anybody can help, please do. I've had acne for over 10 years now. Starting in third grade. And now that I'm finally beginning to get it under control, (i still have a few acne bumps as you can see, but not very many), I'm trying to find a way to fade these scars. They're all over my left and right cheek, I'm so tired of having to wear so much foundation in attempt to cover them. Without the makeup, my face is covered in these scars, and with the makeup i look cake faced or like I'm just wearing so much makeup. It's seriously starting to take it's toll and depress me. I have enough insecurities as it is, things i can't change or can't afford to fix, but I'm hoping maybe this will be a start, if i could find a way to fade them. Sorry for the long post. I just need some help.

Hmmm how about cocoa or shea butter on your face at night. Or bio oil.

The first two didn't work. Idk about Bio Oil, never tried it. My skin is super oily, would that make my acne flare up?

I have oily skin too. I dont find bio oil to be greasy. I cant think of anything else. Maybe silicone scar pads. Or mederma?

I don't think those are permanent scars. I think they are healing acne lesions and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which will clear and fade on their own in 6-12 months.

So, time will take care of it. But...

...the to stop from getting new acne lesions. Because, unless you stop the breakouts, 6 months from now, your old stuff will be clear, but you will just have new healing lesions and hyperpigmentation to contend with. It's a vicious cycle.

Have you tried using the regimen described at The regimen consists of cleansing, using a low-dose of benzoyl peroxide as a preventive twice a day, and a very light moisturizer. Their products are excellent and very reasonably priced. BP used preventively is one of the best treatments for acne. Unless you have money for doctors and prescriptions like accutane, is probably your best chance at clearing.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'll check mederma out!

And yes, actually i use the cleanser, BP from there and AHA every day. That's how my acne started to clear up. Although not 100% but i feel like it'll never be 100% with the makeup i use to cover them up. I know you're right, i feel like I've had these forever but i do notice the new ones that kept popping up as my acne kept getting worse. Every single bump i get, leaves a scar. :/ but maybe i should just keep with the routine and hope it clears up and they fade. I don't use a moisturizer though, at night i just use the AHA in place of where people would normally use a moisturizer. Is that bad?

I think skipping the moisturizer is fine, especially if you are very oily. I am very oily and NEVER use moisturizer. I just simply never, ever need it.
Thank you a lot. I was afraid these scars were permanent since they always semt to be there. Alwaysss.

Don't skip the moisturizer. Make sure you have one customized to your skin type. You need a proper face cleanser and moisturizer that doesn't clog pores and is oil free. Mary Kay botanical effects. Apple Cider Vinegar might help heal your skin. It is inflammed right now. No scrubbing products

Have you tried doing glycolic or lactic acid peels? They work wonders for me to fade hyperpigmentation left from acne flare ups and also help prevent new acne.

I would trust RCW's advice. My skin is beautiful now and it's all her doing. I won't let a product touch my face unless it's something that she's mentioned is okay.

But, this is all just my opinion and experience.
I love Jessicurl HCC, Jessicurl Too Shea, KCKT, KCCC, CK and HESMU...but it took a LOT of trial error to get to these products that consistently work for ME.
I'm already doing what she suggested, luckily. She seems very knowledgeable. And hopefully she's right that these scars aren't permanent! Thanks for your comment though, that reassures me that I'm on the right path.

makeup artists choice has a wonderful array of products that would help you. there are before and afters of people whose skin started out with more acne issues than yours. check them out. if you join their mailing list they have good sales often.

i recently bought the mandelic acid toner from them and really like it. my staples are 5% bha which i actually get from pure skin formulations and a good simple cleanser. i also use peels from makeup artist's choice. look over there and see which one is best for you. my suggestion is not to go with the strongest one off the bat and i avoided the tca peel because it seemed like it could damage my skin more easily than the others. my skin has improved dramatically. also i'd be remiss if i didn't say look at your diet, it might be a factor for you, i know it is for me. good luck.

THANK YOU! All of you. I think I'll go with the Lactic Acid Peel. 40%? I think that's the lowest. I hope that's best for my acne scars

I have suffered with acne and the scars they leave behind for 15 years now. I have been reading that using fresh lemon/lime juice, honey, cinnamon, turmeric, and/or yogurt or milk masks help to fade scars. I have been using Ambi Even and Clear Targeted mark minimizer for 2 weeks and notice a big difference in the color of my marks as well as the texture of my skin. You may also want to look into the Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) as I have heard it is amazing for acne sufferers like us
