i've been doing the ocm for a couple years now. I think it has dramatically improved my skin. i usually have dry peeling skin with oil spots and pimples just to make my life wonderful. I have some oil spots every now and again, but no dry spots like I use to and i dont get horrible acne breakouts. i saw results as soon as i started doing the method. my skin wasnt as dry. my skin isnt perfect, i still may get a pimple every now and again, but nothing as bad as it use to be. I started using the ez-peel and my skin has never looked better!

I've been using the ocm for a while now. I noticed a change in my skin almost immediately. I dont really have acne, but I had blotchy skin and its helped alot with that. I use equal parts castor oil and apricot oil and sometimes I add in a few drops of honey.

This is a link to a previous thread with a link to another previous thread, and a link to an oil cleansing website. There was a lot of good discussion and advice in there.

I do it daily, to remove makeup and sunscreen. Some folks here do it several times a week.

Jasmine_13 12-01-2012 05:57 PM

Do you think doing it once a week will make a difference to my face?

I started using hemp seed oil as a moisturizer months ago and my skin is so even and clear. I don't have bad break outs but I haven't had a bump or blemish since.

I have tried OCM several times. I break out something fierce each time, no matter what oils I use. My skin HATES oils. All oils. It takes MONTHS to clear up the cloggy mess each time I lose my mind and try this awful method again.

I used it for years, every single night and sometimes in the morning, when I lived in Southern CA. I moved to AZ last June and I ran out and keep forgetting to order some more. I could get it in a store in OC. (Now I'm using Philosophy Purity which works similar to cleansing oils.). My favorite oil cleanser is DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. Philosophy has a great "Purity" cleansing oil as well.

I've never tried the iconic Shu Uemura cleansing oil because who in their right mind pays $80.00 for a 15 oz bottle of face cleanser? I tried a couple of other brands, but they gave me cystic breakouts. My mother had Lumene Cleansing Oil, and I tried it once at her house, but I broke out within an hour.

Okay guys I have just done my first ocm! Using 3parts olive oil and 1part castor oil... I am really sceptical about it making a difference and am worried I will wake up with more spots :-S my face feels quite clean, what do you guys use in the morning (yeah its night time here in London!) do I just rinse mt face then moisturise? And when do you start to see a difference if any? Thanks, Night!! *fingers crossed* :-*

I've been using oils for quite a few years now and still love it. It has really cleaned out my pores and I no longer get blackheads or painful cysts.
I mix jojoba with sunflower, hempseed, safflower. I use the mixture for cleansing at night and also as a moisturizer.
In the morning I just rinse my face with water or use a cucumber cleansing cloth with is cooling and soothing. I also still wash my face with Noxema a few times a week because I like the smell. : )

In case this hasn't been posted on this thread yet - here's a list of oils and whether they are comedogenic or irritating. Become an Acne Detective

I tried this out for nearly two weeks. Initially I used 50/50 castor oil and coconut oil. My face instantly felt cleansed and moisturized. The texture was smooth and I could see the pores unclogging. However, within a few days, I started breaking out with cystic acne along my jawline. I thought it was just hormonal due to "that time of the month", but those normally clear up after day 1-2. These cysts kept popping up day and after. I stuck it out bc I have heard of a purging period some people go through. I switched my oil combo to sunflower/castor but was afraid that it would continue to get worse. It definitely takes some time and practice with the right oil combos and the right mixes (I.e. 50/50, 25/75, etc). Please do not be discouraged by my experience. Who knows I could be enjoying clear flawless skin by now if I had stuck it out. FYI I have oily skin, large pores, and moderate acne for over 16 years.

i use a 50/50 blend of castor and jojoba oil. i just eye ball. and a few drops of tea tree and lavendar oil. i do the ocm everynight along with my ez peel. and just rinse with water in the morning. i also do asprin mask a couple times a week.

I have stopped using the ocm, it stopped impoving my skin but if I carried on im sure it wouldve helped, for me, ocm didnt work :(

I am having a lot of trouble finding castor oil! Pharmacies and stores do not sell it any more because women used it to induce labor. Anyways, I really want to try the oil cleansing method, but I only have tea tree oil and olive oil.

Huh? Are you in the US? Because target and Walmart and most drug stores carry castor oil because a lot of people still use it as a laxative.

I do OCM on and off all the time, mostly to remove makeup if I'm wearing the whole shebang (foundation, a pound of eye makeup, lip products, etc). I use jojoba or coconut oil. I don't normally use castor oil, but I should because I have acne-prone skin.

It's usually pretty soothing to my skin, which can get irritated and sore at times. But I used OCM last week for a few days and a rough, dry patch appeared on my cheek. That was weird. I haven't really done it much in the last few days and now the dry patch is gone. idk...maybe I need a different oil combination.
