Epiduo and dry skin?

I've been using epiduo (or Tactuo for Canadians) on my acne for a couple nights now. I have EXTREMELY oily skin. I haven't been rubbing it on my whole face though, just specific outbreaks. Anyways, it has created a hard, dry, rough, red patch on my cheek! I've stopped using it, and have exfoliated the area once and used some thick moisturizer to treat it but its only marginally better than it was last night. It hasn't even started peeling yet. Can anyone give me some advice to speed the process along?

On the bright side it DID remove my acne...
It's always a Goldilocks balancing act when using Rx acne products...using not too much so as to keep skin from being too dry/irritated, yet using it enough to keep acne clear. You need it to be just right. When I get dry and patchy from too much retinoid/bp, I back off a bit and apply every-other-day. If that's still too much, you can switch to every-third-day. Some people can only use it once or twice a week. I don't like using moisturizer with it, because that makes me break out and defeats the purpose. Skin adjusts to retinoids over time, and I've been using it for years, so I don't have much of a problem anymore. I have no problem with dryness at all in the summer, but I do use a copper peptide serum with my retinoid in the winter to keep from being too dry. Retinoids and CPs go together really well, because one breaks down collegen and the olther builds it up. This one is my favorite CP...I just add a couple drops to my retinoid as I apply it.

Super CP Serum 1 oz.
