After I wash my hair I put in some leave in conditioner and then some gel,i let it air.dry and when damp do the pineapple then I just go to sleep on a satin pillowcase. If you dont want to try the pineapple you can try plopping.:)

Ditto on what maxcurls said. I shower at night also and use a similar routine. I use a very generous amount of gel so my hair is pretty crunchy when I pineapple. In the morning, I spritz with water and let that dry while I dress. I'll sometimes use a tiny amount of conditioner or curl cream to scrunch out the crunch and I'm ready to go. I can easily get second and third day hair by pineappling at night, spritzing in the morning and scrunching with a light conditioner.

I realize I'm several months late in posting this, but I take a shower/bath at night too. After my shower, I put my leave-in on my hair and air dry (I drape my hair over the pillow...I need to get a satin pillowcase). In the morning I use a spray bottle to dampen my hair just enough to add mousse. Adding gel or mousse at night makes my hair look AWFUL!!! If I have frizzy spots, I put a little of my leave-in there. Showering in the morning just doesn't work for me.

Will be trying it your way, curlyev! Never thought of waiting till morning to put my product in. Do you still get decent clumping? Scrunch or rake your product?

I get WAY better clumps, and my hair has more body. I do the raking with just water (I don't get it soaking wet), and if there are any frizzy parts I put leave in on them (not a lot of leave in). When I put the product in, I actually just lightly run it through my hair (almost like rubbing it over my hair-not raking it). I use mousse now, but when I used gel I did the same thing. After that I scrunch but not too much. I fix my hair one side at a time. It works really well for me, and my hair stays soft but in place. The good part is that I can always add more product if necessary. When it's wet, I can't really tell exactly how much product I need. I hope that makes sense. lol
