Trying to go back curly!

Hello, I am new here -thus on the new thread! I am unsure what my hair type is, so if anyone cares to try to identify please help! I do know it is porous and fine. I am attaching 2 pics -One was a few years back when I was going curly (with more success) and the other is of me and my son now. I just can't seem to get as curly as I was before. I am currently 7 and a half months pregnant and I do dye my hair as I am going gray. I have been straightening it for almost a year -mostly with a blow dryer and round brush and some times using a flat iron. Any suggestions on how to be more curly would be great. I am attempting CG protocols.

Curl type is relatively unimportant because it's transient. At least, that's what we all hope for when we come onto and learn how to take care of our hair!

Best way to choose ingredients/products is to find people with hair like yours and see what they use (in signatures.) It's the best place to start.

Since your hair is fine and porous--protein is likely to be your good friend. My fine/low porosity hair never met a protein it didn't like. I do at least one PT a week and use a lot of products with protein.

Thanks for responding and the advice! I have straightened for so long, I think my hair doesn't know what to do right now. I am also thinking that maybe being pregnant is affecting the texture. Who knows!?! I am just tired of straightening and it going wavy anyway as well as wanting to simplify life with 2 young kids.
