Hello guys!

22 year old belgian girl talking here! (for those who don't know: Belgium is a West-European country, neighbour of France).
I've been straightening my hair for years (since I was 9 or so...) and been a curly person in denial. Last thursday I decided it was time to stop the straightening and to show my natural wave/curls. I guess I'm a 2b now, but I have the weird feeling that I could be a 2c/3a with the right sort of treatment of my hair.
I just don't know how to take care of my hair right now...
I'll tell you what I did before last week and what I'm doing now. Could you help me with what I should still change?

Before last week:
Washing my hair in the evening, sleeping "on" my hair.
Washing: 2 x shampoo, 1x conditioner
Then: blow dry straight
Morning: straightening with iron
Brushing several times a day (more than 5-10 times)

This week:
washing in the evening: 1 x shampoo (something with olive oil, avocado and karité oil in it), 1 x conditioner
Then: mousse (but I don't know how much I should use... I have a lot of hair and since this morning it is 5 cm under my shoulders while being wet: how much should I use?)
Then: leaving it to dry without blow drying
Sleeping: pineapple method
Morning: take pineapple out ... nothing more (sometimes I go through it with my fingers)

I'm having lots of hair, I dye my hair (I have to since I already have grey hair since I was 15 years old) and I have really dry hair.

What could I change in order to make my waves/curls prettier and more curly?

Thank you very much?
Welcome,Neleke! It's so important to get moisture into your hair - especially after years of blow drying and straightening. I saw the biggest difference in my hair when I stopped using harsh shampoos and started using products that would allow moisture to penetrate my hair. I now use a sulfate free shampoo and conditioners without silicones. Finding which ones will work best for you depends largely on your hair properties. These links may help you:

I watched the hair properties information but I can't decide what hair type I am (the definitions and tests are way to abstract for me).
Do you know good easy ways to determine your hair properties? (like the floating test for porosity, which I will try later today)

I was wondering: so my hair is really dry (it almost scratches my sensitive skin) and I didn't notice that while I was still straightening it (probably because the iron made it appear softer and less dry).
It keeps on frizzing (already did that when I was still straightening).
So I wonder: do you think my hair will look curlier when it's better moistured? I do hope so... since I would like to have more curly hair.
And is it true that your hair curls more if you have it like shoulderlength than when you have it bra-straplength?
so... I did the porosity floating test with 5 of my hair strands and they kept floating (even after 10 minutes) so I guess I'm having low porosity...
I guess I'm a 2b type, with lots of dry hair and low porosity.
Now what?

The floating test for porosity is unreliable!! According to the float test we all have low porosity...

best way to determine porosity is to move your finger from your ends up to the root. If it's bumpy, you have high porosity. If it runs smooth, you have low porosity.

To moisturize your hair, you could do a deep treatment . Also, to keep moisture in, I advice sealing. Also, use moisturizing leave in conditioners.

I don't feel bumps, but this doesn't make me feel sure about it... how bumpy would it be if it were high porosity? and oh... when I do that test, my hair squeaks... does that mean anything?
So... this is my hair... I thought it was a 2b, but I'm not sure anymore... anyone?

It could as well be a 2c. maybe if you learn to work more with your curls even a 3a

not sure.
