New Member- question regarding thinning

I have fairly thick curly hair. Unfortunately, I've noticed within the past couple of months my hair on the sides of my scalp have been thinning out. I do put my hair up quite often and I also put my hair in a loose bun when I exercise. I started using DevaCurl products a few months ago, but I don't think that is the reason for the thinning of my hair. Are there any products that are specifically meant to treat thinning curly hair? The other day when I put my hair in a high bun I noticed the thinning and I'd like to try to repair it over time if possible. Please let me know if there are any products/deep treatments you recommend.
Welcome! The only effective solution is to correctly identify and address the underlying cause, you can easily worsen a scalp issue by randomly selecting treatments. If this hair loss is new to you the best thing you can do is head to your family doctor or dermatologist for a check up. Also review your diet to ensure it is balanced and nutrient dense enough to fuel your exercise routine (can easily double requirements of ALL nutrients).

Products can cause or contribute to shedding if they cause underlying irritation and some do have issues with Devacurl. Regular up dos can also cause traction alopecia if tight or pulling, but the crown and edges are more common than the underlayers. What you need is not a hair product but a dermatological treatment and only a medical professional can advise you on that.
