Ke'oni did a fantastic job on my hair and didn't even complain about the really long time it took to blow my hair straight, a treat I like when I get a cut since I don't like to do it myself. He listened to me in a way that helped me figure out the kind of cut I wanted, even though I really wasn't sure when I arrived. He is very professional with the little things and the little things are always the ones that stick with you, like wrapping my wet hair to keep it from dripping all over me as we walked back over to the chair. The cut was great and the blow out was done very thoroughly. There's nothing worse that a slightly damp blow out for a curly girl! Even though my hair is very thick and it took longer than he thought it would, he didn't try to rush it and leave me dreading getting home and having to style my hair again myself. It feels nice and soft, the layers are beautiful, and he picked the right products for my hair AND for the climate here. On top of doing great hair, he is just a really nice guy. He's laid back and great at talking to people. Going to someone new for the first time usually means lots of awkward silences in the conversation, but not with Ke'oni. I really enjoyed talking with him and hearing how much he enjoys what he does. It makes a difference. Thanks, Ke'oni and thanks to the salon search here for a great haircut!

I've been to this salon twice (once with Keoni and once with Giselle) and both times, I was extremely happy with the results. I have really wavy 2c hair. The cut was so awesome that all I've had to do to my hair in the mornings is wash it, put mousse in it, scrunch it, and go. It's on the pricier side, but well worth the money.

Hair type: 3b, very fine, very thin hair Keoni is the real deal when it comes to cutting curly hair. He listened to exactly what I asked for which was maintain length but add volumn and shape. My hair looked awesome after he finished. I got exactly what I wanted. Its really hard to find someone who can cut curly hair correctly. I was so surprised by the shape and volumn he was able to achieve. My hair is so thin and fine it falls flat a lot of times. Oh and he even introduced me to a new awesome product made especially for curly girls with thin fine hair (Morocannoil Curl Control) which I now use. I would recommend and will most certainly be back for another cut. BBring quarters for parking and the atmosphere in the salon is really nice, very modern. :) yea!!!

Walked in for my first cut with Keoni, whom I'd read about on NaturallyCurly.com and on Yelp; I had moved back to Hawaii and couldn't find my former stylist.... it had been almost 10 years since I moved away! I was over-do for a cut and a touch-up on my highlights and was well aware of the FRIZZY, POUFFY results a "bad" cut/highlights could have on my curly, wavy hair. Especially in Hawaii, where the combination of moist air, wind, chlorine, salt water and strong sun year-round will wreak havoc with ANY hair type! Thanks to NaturallyCurly.com I had the input of other "Curly Girls" in choosing Keoni and I was able to walk in to the salon with confidence, sit in his chair and say nothing more than... "It's been 4 months, so I need to lose about 2 inches and I LOVE MY CURLS and want to maximize them." ... Next thing I knew I was walking out of there with the absolute best cut I've ever gotten, ANYWHERE! Couldn't believe my gorgeous, shiny ringlets! Got and still getting tons of compliments! It's been two weeks and still looking great. Towel dry, Scrunch and GO! I am so thankful that I was unable to find my "old" stylist was pointed in the direction of Keoni at THE FIX Salon in Kailua, Oahu. Thank you NaturallyCurly.com !!!!! Thank you, thank you Keoni !!! Curls ROCK! and BOUNCE! and Shine!.... and did I mention? ... so soft to touch!!!

Keoni may be my all-time favorite stylist, and I've had a few. He can do a Deva cut, but is not wedded to the Deva method. That's good, because after a year of flying back to the mainland for my Deva cuts, I finally realized that Deva was not working for my 2c hair in this crazy humidity. I decided to go local and am glad I did. Keoni cut my hair with more layers, and it looks much better. Plus, my hair is not still wet at 5:00 pm anymore. Keoni is also an excellent colorist. (Is it just me, or are straight men the colorists most likely to earn you compliments from the opposite sex?) In sum, Keoni listens, he does what you ask for, and he is super nice and a great conversationist. The salon also has a great vibe. It is very relaxed, no loud music, full of down-to-earth people and employees. I actually look forward to getting my hair done.

I got my hair cut by Jamie at the Fix in Kailua. AMAZING! From the indepth consultation, the scalp massage, the cut and the finish, I was trully trully impressed. He is the only stylist that has cut my hair that wanted to work with my curls. All other stylist tried to straighten it, and while it looked great when I would leave, I always felt I got a cut that was meant for a person with straight hair. In the consultation he worked to find a style that would work for me and my busy lifestyle. I've never had a better cut. Its been 6 weeks and the shape is still beautiful! Also, he didn't let me leave without giving me tips on how to make my hair look gorgeous all the time. I have always hated cutting my hair (as I'm sure most people with curly hair have had their horror stories), but whats weird is that I can't wait to go back! He is a trully gifted stylist, I've learned that he's been doing hair for over 10 years and came from the vidall sassoon academy. Its no wonder why I left so happy!

With a little digging, I found out that Keoni (formerly from the Paul Brown Salon) has opened up his own salon called The Fix. It's in Kailua on Uluniu Street. Hope this helps! I, myself, am going for my first appointment this weekend and can't wait to have my curly hair cut by someone who knows what they're doing.
