This salon has been the holy grail to my curly hair needs; the apple of eden in the most wonderful of places. There is absolutely nothing the words used to describe this salon, which is magnificant in all regards, could offer in as a form of true recognition. First of all, the service. Simply unmatched. I had to convince my mother, who was sketchy of going to a salon in "south beach", because of fear of ridiculous prices. I'll admit, the salon looks and feels great, but being of a lower class, it was definitely intimidating. I had to ask imidiately for a price sheet, which they were more than willing to offer. I sighed in relieve when I saw the prices. I had only one previous experience in a salon; being a guy with curly hair, and being poor, you don't grow up thinking that you have good hair (most people think that curly hair is awful, such is the social implication and label placed on my beautiful set of hair). The last salon I visitied was in a somewhat "sketchy" neighborhood by Little Habana. There I got a Keratine solution, had my hair blow dried, and straightened. For the first time in my life, I gasped and said "holy **** that does not look like me. I looked Italian; I was Spanish and Lebanes genetically, but cuban by nationality. It was an incredible feeling, but sadly, when i washed my hair, it was gone forever. Worst thing was, the price was nearly two hundred dollars. At salon Vaso I paid one hundred and forty dollar, have taken a shower and shapooed /conditioned and the hair they bestowed upon me is still set on my head I found Salon Vaso through naturallycurly.com. I was contemplating calling the salon for a long time, a week at most, because I kept reading the reviews, and they kept talking about having a great curly hair specialist named Mark. I had to get a fix for my hair, prom was five days away! So, I decide to call. The reciptionist was very nice and kind, and was a great pleasure to talk to. I set my appointment for thursday, prom being on friday. I was set on my goal, and I had to get it over with, I was not afraid of what I would look like and what people might say. I've always been rebellious and dedicated to my decisions. I am very open minded. I arrived on the salon and was treated with the most utmost respect. My mother, who has difficulties speaking english was treated just as I was; she was treated as a princess, and was talked to by this kind man named Anthony, who was from puerto rico. She also had a treatment done on her hair and was ecstatic about returning. Without a doubt, I have made Salon Vaso the number one salon in my list, and I already told Mark that he was going to be my specialist forever haha. I couldn't have asked for anything else. Thank you Salon Vaso!

All the good reviews on this site has had me wanting to go to this salon for years. I'd been going to another stylist for eight years and after my underwhelming cut, the thrill was gone. The great: Salon Vaso is conveniently located, the staff was wonderful (I was treated very well), and the price is just right! Vaso was very attentive to what I wanted (a blended layer cut for my 3C curls). My cut turned out great! Also, they didn't push product on me. With my type of hair especially, it's all about the cut and care. Product doesn't matter so much. This is definitely my salon from now on. Vaso was knowledgeable (and super nice), the staff was friendly, and I'm a very satisfied customer. The "meh": My hair's final styling just prior to leaving the salon. I'm very low-maintenance about gels and such. My hair was combed out while wet and an oil-based "wet look" gel was put in my hair. The result? A frizzy, amorphous look. A final rinse (with cool water), leave-in conditioning and a touch of gel would have locked my curls nicely. Next time I go there, I'll request that instead. Overall it was a great experience. It took a couple of shampoos to see the final result of my cut and shaping, and now it looks great! Note: untamed frizz (especially in South Florida high heat and humidity) is just not a curly head's friend. But you'd better believe Vaso is hands-down my new stylist!

The best salon on South Beach! I discovered this place because my color specialist started working there. They have reasonable prices for South Beach. I also get manicures and pedicures. I always get the best haircut and am always satisfied when I leave the salon.

I recently moved to South Beach, and after weeks of searching online reviews for a salon that provides excellent eyebrow threading services, I decided to try Salon Vaso, given that it was the only salon that had received all positive reviews. I was not disappointed. I walked in with unruly brows and left with beautifully shaped brows compliments of Mark. Mark was extremely friendly (as was the rest of the staff), outgoing, and he did a wonderful job on my eyebrows. Additionally, he was able to make some great recommendations regarding the styling of my hair and I plan on making several upcoming trips to Salon Vaso not only for eyebrow threading but also for haircuts and for their competitively priced blow outs.

You really need to try Salon Vaso! I was going to the same hairdresser for about 8 years until she moved away. I noticed Salon Vaso was just a few blocks from my apartment and did a little research. I saw they were listed as color specialists and curly hair experts. That was just what I needed! I called and was able to get an appointment for that very evening with Mark Holloway. He was easy to talk to and asked the right questions to be sure he understood what I was looking for. My hair cut and highlights were perfect! It was my lucky day to meet Mark! I left feeling beautiful and I will definitely be going back!

I do my research. I am very picky about everything and wanted to make sure I was going to the best color specialists in Miami. Salon Vaso was it. My hair before was long, straight, to the end of my back and black. I am Latina with an olive complextion. I have not colored my hair or much else but trim it for 1 year and 3 months. I wanted a change! I was also recommended to Vaso for Color from another salon! I looked up their website and was very impressed by their exposure on TV and magazines, I also had a friend that worked with the owner, Vaso, in the Standard before she had this Salon and was told she runs a tight ship. With the top of my hair being untouched and a bundle of nerves, I went to the salon for a consultation with the Color Specialist, Mark. I was told I would be able to achieve a brown base with highlights, not blonde because of the black I had on the rest of my hair from years past, and he did not want to fry my hair. He pointed out he wanted to cut my hair in layers to create more movement, and color my hair a hue that would brighten my olive complextion, and that blended naturally. I felt at ease after the consultation, and made an appointment for two days after, last Thursday. The whole appointment took 4 hours, that's it! Lifting, base color, highlights, cut, a manicure for 10 dollars?? Wow, let's just say I have had my hair colored in the past and it took double that at times. I can't stop getting compliments. My hair came out a medium rich brown with VIVID blond highlights. But it wasn't the chunky just colored highlights, it all blended!! It looks like it was done over time, it is VERY natural looking. My hair was cut into layers, and now has more movement than ever! I did freak out when I saw my hair on the ground, but the end result was amazing, they still kept my hair long. The blowout was just as good, it had volume, accentuated my haircut and color, it lasted 5 days with just as much bounce as the first day! I just want to say that I have been to many salons, and have never had the type of result with my hair than with Salon Vaso. I am very hard to please and I was floored and so happy to have found Mark, an amazing color specialist, and Salon Vaso!

I bet a lot of you reading this right now have trust issues with hair stylists. I was in the same basket, up until yesterday. Vaso, honestly, knows what she's doing. She is not the typical scissors-happy stylist. To prove this, when I got my haircut yesterday, she gave me a very nice shape and subtle layers giving just the right volume I wanted. She kept the length of my hair long just as I had asked. I was very happy with the cut. She even told me that, if I wanted, to come back the next day in order to make a few adjustments. The cut was perfect, but since I surprisingly felt comfortable going shorter, I went back for those adjustments. The level of professionalism in SalonVaso is simply on point. I'm happy to announce that no one else but Vaso can touch my hair. =)

I'll admit it, I'm a creature of habit. I went to the same salon for over 10 years (for hair and mani/pedi) even though I really was never that happy with the results. A friend of mine told me about Salon Vaso a year ago, and I literally couldn't be happier!! Not only is Vaso an AMAZING color specialist, she gives me the best haircut that I've ever had. But wait, it gets even better! Tanya, one of the nail specialists, gives the most meticulous manicure and pedicure that I've ever received, and is a joy to talk to. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Salon Vaso is amazing. They have a very seasoned staff. Marie Clair is a great color and cut specialist. She does the best blow outs on the beach. I love the manicures and pedicures with Carol, they last for about two weeks, that's a long time for hands. The salon is beautiful and the energy is amazing.

I had been looking high and low for an affordable place on the beach to do a manicure/pedicure. As soon as I called Salon Vaso, my look ended. $40 for a manicure/pedicure, you can't get any better! Tanya Kirov, my nail specialist, was AMAZING! She immediately asked me if I wanted something to drink, and treated me like a queen. She was funny and sweet throughout the entire process, I couldn't have asked for a nicer person. And to top that off, the manicure/pedicure was AMAZING! Everything was fantastic, and I will be referring this to everyone I know! Thanks Salon Vaso! Alexis?

I moved down here last year and went crawling around south Florida (as far as almost 2 hours away!) looking for someone who could recapture the glory of my wonderful stylist in NY (see Trish at K's in NY). Being on a budget I had originally passed Vaso by assuming it would have the requisite South Beach exorbitant rates. How ever wrong I was! And I'm never leaving! Haircuts with Vaso cost as much as haircuts from lesser stylists everywhere else, and her cuts are worth far, far more. Her consults are really one on one and she really knows how to get the best out of curly hair (I have giant 3a curls that decide on their own what they want to do and need serious discipline to not be a mess), especially for people like me that don't have the typical office job and need to look presentable without spending hours in prep. With her cuts I can just wash, use some product, and go. She really earned her best of the best rating by Allure magazine. Thank you Vaso!

Now I know why they say Salon Vaso is South Beach's # 1 Salon ! I've been to literally all the hip and hot Salons on the Beach but when it comes to color her title "Master Colorist/Stylist" hits it right on the spot. Finally I know where from this point forward I will have my hair done, period. Since I had a little time to kill I went for a Mani/Pedi and was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and quality of work. AAA from me to Salon Vaso.
